An Insider's view of Kos Media

What’s the vibe like in the office?

My colleagues at Daily Kos are smart, kind, and principled. As a remote company, it's important to feel embraced by a team, and I do. We actually like each other and working together, and that makes all the difference. The work-life balance is real, too—we're encouraged to use our generous PTO and enjoy our lives outside of work.

Copy Editor

What's the biggest problem your team is solving?

We’d like our very engaged community to better reflect the diversity of the Democratic party. Combine that with a strong desire to tear down the notorious gates of journalism, a bit of trust and autonomy granted by our management, and you’ve got our new Emerging Fellows Program. It’s simultaneously the hardest and most fulfilling project.

Managing Editor

How does the company support your career growth?

Daily Kos truly focuses on the growth of their employees as much as they do on their own growth. The education stipend is the highest I have heard of in this industry and you are encouraged to use it. Regular checkins, meetings, and collaboration sessions help you not only choose your path, but offer ways to excel, including internal growth options
