Who We Are:
Data Science and Analytics plays a key role in the Core Data and Analytics (CDA) organization. We leverage data to provide key insights, business intelligence and data science products that advance NM's strategic priorities.
What's the role?
As a Senior QA Data Scientist, you will be a part of the Underwriting Innovation team that delivers machine learning models to implement our corporate initiatives to make our application process faster and easier for our clients. Our successful candidate will pay attention to details and apply critical thinking and statistical knowledge to big data and machine learning models. This position is within our data science team and the individual will work with data scientists, data engineers and data analysts in the team to create solutions to improve the quality of ML models and ensure we deploy a parsimonious and efficient model to production. You will share best practices with peers through coaching and mentoring around core methodologies, patterns, standards and processes.
Responsibilities :

• Create statistical robustness tests for trained models
• Debug and define corrective action
• Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test suites using programming languages such as Python
• Track quality assurance metrics
• Understanding of Data Science/Machine Learning models
• Ability to debug/troubleshoot large sets of data related issues and formats
• Creating a measure to quantify the quality of data and models.
• Design and Develop validation framework for ML models
• Collaborate with Data Scientists to understand data and models
• Applying statistical concepts to validate and QA data and models
• Apply creative problem solving to address data and information needs
• Produce actionable visualizations that identify areas of improvement and displays root cause analysis of problems
• Present findings in a professional manner to leaders in the organization

Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Econometrics or related field 5+ years relevant experience with a proven track record
• Master's degree or PhD in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Econometrics preferred with relevant work experience
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, SQL, or R
• Proficiency in cloud environments like Azure, AWS, or GCP including model deployment preferred
• Passion for problem solving, research, quantitative analysis, and analytical working techniques
• Ability to influence others with the story of what you're seeing in the data to make business recommendations
• Extremely organized with high attention to details
• Excellent time and project management skills, with the ability to manage detail work and communicate project status effectively to all levels
• Proven track record in meeting aggressive deadlines
• Proven work experience in quality assurance
• professional experience as a Data Science QA/Software Test engineer
• Communicates clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
