Our drivers go the extra mile for Riders, offering a high quality of service and taking pride in the experience they offer. On the Driver Progression Team, our mission is to provide drivers Recognition, Rewards and Feedback for their service, helping create a long term relationship with Uber.

We do this in the form of four distinct areas of investments -

  1. Tipping, Rating and Feedback
  2. Uber Pro Loyalty Program and Rewards
  3. Driver Surveys and Sentiment
  4. Regulatory Benefits Support (i.e. Prop 22)

If we are successful, we will be able to increase driver's satisfaction with Uber's platform and improve Quality of service provided to Riders

About the Role

As the Product Manager for Driver Benefits at Uber, you will own the end-to-end execution of Regulatory and COVID-related Benefits for drivers. Examples of the kinds of Driver Benefits that this person would be responsible for include -

  1. California Prop 22 Earnings Guarantee and Healthcare Stipend
  2. PPE, Vaccine and COVID Financial Stipend Distribution for Drivers
  3. Compliance with Sick Pay, Time Off regulations in specific US and UK markets

To do this role well, this candidate needs to demonstrate UX chops, deep understanding of our backend systems, ability to manage edge cases and deliver speedy features to comply with regulatory deadlines.

The scope of this team will grow over time as more Regulatory and COVID-related Driver Benefits emerge -- the candidate who takes this role will have the opportunity to build the strategy for this area from the ground up, eventually creating an extensible Benefits platform that meets a multitude of use cases.

What the Candidate Will Do:

  • Take broad, conceptual requirements & work closely with engineering to make them a reality.
  • Work across multiple engineering teams, and do a massive amount of sheep herding to deliver E2E Benefits that have components in multiple tech stacks.
  • Own a product roadmap and lead vision, definition, and execution for building Uber's Benefits Platform
  • Thrive in an environment of fast feedback loops and an attitude of rapid iterations.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of Product management experience.
  • Experience working across multiple teams and managing complex network of stakeholders
  • Strong product sense and ability to craft a long term vision
  • Obsession with details and data-driven decision making

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Some past experience working closely with Legal and Policy on Regulatory products
  • Full stack product delivery that includes UX and backend systems
  • Any experience working with gig economy earners
