Job Summary:
The Senior Enterprise Applications Engineer works with Business stakeholders and Product Owners to gather business requirements, translate them into System specifications, and develop solutions in Oracle E-Business Suite. This role serves as lead functional analyst, solution designer, configurator, validator, and quality assurance. The individual is highly experienced in the Inventory related Oracle E-Business Suite modules. The Senior Enterprise Applications Engineer is experienced in both configuring the E-business platform to achieve the desired business outcome and designing custom software extensions to support Cox Automotive specific business needs. The Senior Enterprise Applications Engineer leverages both application experience and business process knowledge to make sound technical design decisions in order to plan and accomplish business outcomes.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Helps to lead research, design, development and implementation efforts to modify and/or add new functionality to Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) modules, including designing functional specifications for Interfaces, Extensions, Workflows, Conversions, and Reports.
  • Quickly comes up-to-speed (or provides experience) in the surrounding tools / applications including: Test Complete, Ready API, Rally, Oracle WCI, Vertex, Concur.
  • Partners with Product Owners to understand their needs and develop innovative solution options that balance timeliness, scope, complexity, and cost.
  • Develops an understanding of business needs from an inventory management perspective and how technology solutions impact current and future state business processes and controls.
  • Works well in an Agile development team and fosters a team mindset with all delivery team members to work towards shared goals and objectives. Understands agile software methodology and tools (Rally).
  • Maintains the Application Configuration documentation as changes are made to the configurations.
  • Creates automated test scripts using tools such as Test Complete, Python, and Ruby.
  • Is responsible for System Integration Testing and coordinating UAT testing, Business approvals, user training and change management process.
  • Designs test data scenarios and writes data manipulation language (DML) to modify existing and create new test data.
  • Serves as level 3 support and resolves critical production issues which are escalated beyond level 2 support personnel.
  • Develops an understanding of Cox Automotive applications and their interdependencies with Oracle EBS applications, customers, and business processes within the areas they support.
  • Is experienced in estimating development efforts needed to implement a technical solution
  • Works with their delivery team to proactively identify work, communicate and resolve issues and risks that interfere with ongoing project execution or success.
  • Presents ideas for process and systems improvement recommendations that assist the business in achieving its goals and objectives, leveraging best practices and professional experiences.


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field plus 8+ years of relevant work experience; including 3+ years in a management and/or leadership roles; or a Master's degree plus 6+ years of relevant work experience; or a PhD plus 3+ years of relevant experience
  • In lieu of a degree, qualified candidates would require 12+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Previous implementation experience with Oracle E-Business Suite of applications including: Inventory, Order Management, Purchasing, Accounts Payable
  • Ideal candidate would have 4+ years of experience as an Oracle functional solution designer
  • Experience operating in a scaled agile delivery framework is desirable
  • Experience with test management and test automation software
  • Knowledge of Oracle database table structures for use in data mapping and running ad-hoc queries to analyze EBS data
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills required
  • Ability to think strategically, analytically, solve problems, make decisions, and collaborate with a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understands "big picture" to assess impacts across Oracle financial modules
  • Proficiency with SQL for querying and modifying data
  • Proficiency with PL/SQL a plus
  • Candidate must also have planning and organization skills, strong attention to detail, and be customer-focused. Knowledge of MS Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook, Project, etc) and related software programs is essential.
  • Operational experience in Inventory Management processes is a plus
  • CBAP certification a plus.
  • You will be required to travel to auction sites and the main Cox campus to work in-person with team members and stakeholders is expected (2-4 times per month)
  • Ability to work in a "team first" mentality where teams swarm on objectives and success is determined at the team, rather than individual level
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines within specified time constraints
  • Ability to adapt to changes in assigned work tasks, duties and priorities in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
