Senior Operational Analyst
Description
SAIC is seeking a qualified Senior Operational Analyst for the Air Force Agency for Modeling and Simulation (AFAMS) program in Orlando, Florida.
AFAMS is the premier agency responsible for implementation, integration, and development of Modeling and Simulation (M&S) training and analysis standards supporting the US Air Force. As the lead agent for M&S within the USAF, AFAMS gathers requirements, seeks out potential solutions, and integrates legacy and emerging M&S solutions across the USAF and the Department of Defense (DoD). The USAF has a M&S initiative focusing on providing simulation and synthetic training as the critical capability to augment live training, act as an enabler for critical decision making, and enhance human performance. The role of this position is to support the M&S Foundations (MSF) Division in AFAMS. The Senior Operational Analyst will:
- Provide quality control and oversight for written reports, analysis, presentations and papers for MSF
- Coordinate and collaborate with Modeling and Simulation Subject Matter Experts
- To develop and coordinate analyses of emerging technologies
- And provide said analyses with an operational perspective for innovative efforts
- Evaluate prospective technologies for operational risk and provide operational risk management strategies
- Assist in the operational Concept of Operations (CONOP) development for current and emerging technology innovation efforts
- Review, evaluate, and comment on external written reports, analyses, presentations, and papers in response to external taskers
Qualifications
Required Exprience
- 5+ years of experience as a Field Grade Officer on a Service and/or Combatant Command Staff
- Successful completion of an O-5 Command assignment
- Successful completion of Command and General Staff College or Service equivalent
- 3+ years of experience preparing and staffing decision-related actions at the Major Command, agency level, or higher
- Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more experience or relevant years of experience in lieu of degree.
- Relevant Joint operational experience
- Must be able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance
Desired Experience/ Qualifications:
- Air Staff experience preferred
- Program Management experience preferred
- Leadership and/or Change Management experience preferred
- Must be able to obtain a SECRET clearance
- Active SECRET clearance preferred
