Description:
Our client has an new opportunity for a Senior Manager, Data Architect. In this role you will be working with the Enterprise Data Strategy team to develop and manage EDW infrastructure from the ground up. This unique opportunity encompasses a combination of hands-on engineering using cutting edge dbt and Snowflake technologies, technical delivery management, and building out a team of engineers.

What You'll Do:
• Design comprehensive data infrastructure, architecture, and metadata ecosystem integrated with enterprise clinical, administrative, and financial source systems and supporting analytical and master data management objectives.
• Lead and develop a brand new Enterprise Data Warehouse in Snowflake, leveraging DBT as the primary development tool and data vault as the data warehousing methodology.
• Build staging, cleansing, modeling, and validation jobs within DBT to execute data transformations in support of the EDW.
• Create large-scale batch and real-time data pipelines that ingest structured, semi-structured and unstructured data from a variety of sources.
• Create data integrity and monitoring jobs to address issues of validation, inconsistencies, and anomalies. Work with business application teams to resolve tactical data quality issues with inbound data.
• Define and implement development, testing, and deployment processes, including those related to data acquisition, maintenance, archiving, controls, and purging.
• Assign tasks and manage performance of engineering and technical direct reports. Oversee and be accountable for resource allocation, striving to improve efficiency, quality, and output.
• Perform data development lifecycle activities and best practices, including data quality assessment, data design and modeling, code review, QA testing, UAT, change management, and technical documentation.
• Lead an agile development process, including iterative development, daily standups, task estimation, sprint planning, sprint reviews, demos, and retrospectives. Continuously improve approach in collaboration with major stakeholder and functional roles.
• Partner with information security team to ensure compliance with data security and privacy policies and procedures. Support the safeguarding and security of company data assets.
• Support data architecture operational objectives by contributing to strategic plans and reviews, preparing and completing action plans, implementing production and quality standards, resolving problems, determining system improvements, and implementing change.
• Communicate updates and technical information to management and non-technical stakeholders.
• Improve infrastructure by tracking product upgrades and emerging technologies and evaluating their applicability to business goals and operational requirements.
• Request and utilize feedback to foster personal development and that of direct reports.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's or master's degree in a technical field preferred.
• Minimum 5-7 years of relevant hands-on experience (2+ years dbt development experience, 2+ years cloud database - Snowflake preferred), including logical and physical data modeling, database and ETL development, data architecture design and deployment, and testing in an enterprise data warehouse platform/environment.
• 2+ years experience data vault experience
• 1+ years experience with ML methods, NLP, and statistical analysis.
• Expert level experience in writing/developing SQL, developing operational data stores, and performance tuning databases. Expertise with Python and Snowflake external functions a plus.
• Experience writing technical specifications, interface specifications, design documents, and other technical documents.
• Strong knowledge of version control, agile development, and QA procedures within a data organization.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, JIRA, or similar project management tools preferred.
• Experience with SOX system controls a plus. Experience with clinical or financial data a plus.
• Experience with Workato or similar iPaaS solutions a plus.
• Familiarity with BI reporting and visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Domo, Tableau, Qlik).
