As the Senior Manager of Business Checking Analytics, you will be responsible for the performance reporting & analytics for American Express's Business Checking Account product line. The ideal candidate will be passionate about leveraging a deep understanding of customer and product data to drive business performance. He or she should have excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills and will have experience leading analytical projects. He or she should bridge the technical/strategic divide, being as comfortable writing complex queries as s/he is presenting the resulting insights to senior leadership in a concise, non-technical manner.

What you'll be doing:

  • Establish yourself as the go-to expert on Business Checking Account product data and performance
  • Support product strategy & decision making by conducting in-depth ad hoc analysis and deep dives into data to evaluate effectiveness of product initiatives and enhancement; Identify opportunities to better meet customer needs based on analytical findings
  • Partefine product-specific goals and KPIs as well as indicators of success for product initiatives/enhancements; Measure progress towards achieving set goals and provide accountability by leading regular reviews of performance
  • Communicate conclusions, implications and recommendations of analyses in a clear, concise fashion
  • Define and deliver robust and scalable reporting that provides accurate and timely visibility into key product metrics and trends
  • Design and implement scalable dashboards and data tools in Tableau to enable business users to access product data in a self-service fashion


Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of relevant experience including extensive experience in hands-on analytical role(s) defining and tracking key business metrics and performing deep-dive analyses
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (e.g. statistics, engineering, math, science, economics, etc). Advanced degrees preferred.
  • Experience working collaboratively across teams and with partners across all levels of an organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts and analytics-driven findings to non-technical stakeholders, and to explain business processes, concepts, and issues to technical resources
  • Strong curiosity and initiative in tackling complex business analysis; dives deeply into the data, relentlessly pursues its meaning, and how these insights can drive business performance
  • Fluency with one or more database querying tools (SQL, R, Python)
  • Extensive experience with analytical tools and visualization software (e.g., Tableau, Looker)
  • Banking industry experience, including hands-on experience working with deposit and debit product transactional data strongly preferred
