Zoom is building an Analytics Center of Excellence to help Zoom use Advanced Analytics to drive strategic decisions across our Enterprise and Consumer businesses worldwide. The COE will partner closely with the Data Science, Marketing Science and Business Intelligence teams to build predictive models and scale performance for data initiatives. These initiatives will include monetization, community integrity, personalization, and enterprise evangelism of data-driven decision making.

This leader will work with cross-functional partners to set the vision, build a team, develop the roadmap to a fully developed Analytics Center of Excellence at Zoom. As a business leader this means working with the team to document the analytics “jobs to be done,” writing thoughtful user stories, grooming the backlog, keeping the team focused, and communicating to stakeholders regularly about impact. As a people leader, this means defining the core mission of the team, hiring, growing, and training a diverse workforce to meet that mission. As a technical leader, this means tackling previously unsolved Zoom problems such as predictive modeling at scale, account integrity, fraud, and consumer monetization.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver measurable business value through data and analytics.

  • Build, nurture, and grow a team of high performing data professionals.

  • Define and disseminate policies and best practices for advanced analytics in partnership with data governance, data infrastructure, and core engineering. These best practices will streamline processes and facilitate value creation by advanced analytics. 

  • Foster a deeper data and analytics culture by creating a language common to both tech and business teams and aligning incentives around delivering business value.

  • Sponsor training to build broader data literacy, enhance data-driven decision-making, improve data and analytic skills, and allocate resources across the organization.

  • Establish a sense of community and encourage cross-organizational participation.


Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in a management role.

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Management of Information Systems, or equivalent

  • A nuanced understanding of diverse and inclusive hiring practices.

  • Extensive and relevant work experience leading and growing high-performing Data and Analytics teams

  • Demonstrated experience in project management, communication, and critical thinking.


Tools & Skills:

  • A deep understanding of modern data science techniques, statistical analysis, machine learning and visualization.

  • At Zoom, our Data Scientists are adept at R, Python, and SQL. You should have expertise in at least one of those areas. Our leaders have practical programming skills for data analysis as well as familiarity with git / GitLab

  • We expect experience in experimental design and the statistics skills to make strong inferences. 

  • Data storytelling matters; you should have a strong point of view on data visualization and how to use data to drive decisions at an executive level.

Colorado Salary Range or On Target Earnings:

Minimum:

$161,400.00 USD

Maximum :

$298,600.00 USD

In addition to the base salary and/or OTE listed, Zoom has a Total Direct Compensation philosophy that takes into consideration base salary, bonus and equity value. Information about Zoom’s benefits is here. Note: Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience. We also have a location based compensation structure; there may be a different range for candidates in other locations.
