What We Do:
Our mission is to help millions of users across the globe improve their mental health and wellness better through a personalized experience. Power Calm’s product experience and business operations with machine learning. Build highly available and performant machine learning services. Lead and enable machine learning product development within Calm.
What You’ll Do:
- Design, build, evaluate, and refine ML services as part of wider product development
- Partner cross functionally with product managers, designers, and engineers in an agile environment
- Own a model from research paper to proof of concept to product integration
- Write tested, maintainable code and participate in code reviews
- Mature Calm’s MLOps and ML Infra while shipping individual services
- Partner within a larger team of data scientists and engineers on data pipelines and experiments to help prove the value of ML-initiatives
- Act as an org-wide resource on machine learning and personalization
- Provide reasonable project timeline estimates and communicate regularly with stakeholders on project status
- Stay up-to-date with the latest machine learning literature and tools
- Prioritize projects with a business mindset and user empathy
Who You Are:
- 4+ years of industry experience in developing and productionalizing machine learning models
- Advanced python and SQL skills
- Build software that integrates machine learning products into the Calm app
- Develop feature engineering data pipelines on large datasets
- Familiar with the modern MLOps Stack: feature store, model registry, CI/CD, model monitoring
- Pragmatic: balance scrappiness and rigor
- Great technical communicator
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong product and architectural instincts
- Experience in at least one of these areas:
- Recommender systems
- Bandits and Reinforcement Learning
- Machine Learning in Health/Wellness technology
