SUMMARY: 

This role is for talented Software Engineers with applied experience in building data platforms that allows the engineering team to develop and deploy data-driven product solutions. The goal of this role is to develop software systems and infrastructure that support a wide range of challenging scientific and clinical problems in MRI aimed at improving patient outcomes. You will design and implement complex software components and drive the architecture of our data platform for managing and processing data from our portable MRI scanners.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work alongside research scientists, software engineers, and a clinical team to help develop a new suite of intelligent medical products.
  • Develop software systems and infrastructure with focus on design, construction, maintenance, extensibility, integration, and security of data pipelines.
  • Design sophisticated data models and tools for data routing, accessibility, normalization, and querying.
  • Optimize frameworks, pipelines, visualizations, dashboards, and systems to facilitate collection of business-relevant data and reports across different products or domains.
  • Conceptualize and implement comprehensive data consumption systems for multiple large-scale internal and external facing projects and document the design and specifications for internal and regulatory documentation.
  • Develop software systems for data storage, data routing, accessibility, normalization, and querying with focus on system interoperability and leveraging standardized formats and communication protocols.
  • Build and maintain automated solutions for large-scale, patient-facing, clinical problems.


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL: 

  • 3+ years of outstanding software experience (Python) including best software engineering practices, efficient object-oriented software design, and building modern back-end systems.
  • Back-end development experience including databases, data modeling, APIs (Node.js, Flask/Nginx, Docker, PostgreSQL, SQLAlchemy).
  • Front-end development experience (JavaScript, TypeScript, React).
  • Automating computational pipelines and batch workflows.
  • Advanced skills in relational and non-relational database management systems, SQL coding and Object Relational Mapping.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 

  • MS and 2 years of experience (or BS with 3 years of experience)


SUMMARY:

In this position, you will be responsible for architecture, design and development of the core system software platform that powers our portable MRI.  You will help deliver key tools and systems that bridge the gap between many domains, including device drivers, hardware sequencing, data processing, core applications and cloud-based service interfaces. You will work directly as a member of the Research and Development Team, taking advantage of face-to-face communication with any other members of the teams.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Technical lead for front-end software development for complex medical imaging products.
  • Work with and support existing legacy code while utilizing newer web technologies.
  • Create modern, efficient, elegant, and scalable code.
  • Design reliable software for fault-intolerant applications - e.g. medicine, scientific computing.
  • Follow our QMS guidelines to meet quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Add/update those items in the SCM system repository (e.g., GitHub), and provide clear messages of changes.
  • Productize software in conjunction with cross-functional input from Commercial, Clinical, Quality, Manufacturing, Test and HW/SW teams.
  • Perform other duties as needed and assigned.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  •  Masters degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years’ experience designing and building front end UI software applications.
  • Ability to lead complex projects.
  • Proficiency with HTML, CSS, JavaScript (experience with React-type architectures and/or the Python language is a plus).
  • Experience with new product development.
  • Experience with software revision systems, like git, and continuous integration systems.
  • Communicate status of all responsible projects both in writing and verbally.
  • Experience in fast paced, agile and highly collaborative environments.

Data Sharing

In addition, we limit access to personal information to those employees, agents, contractors, and other third parties that have a legitimate business need for such access.

Deletion

Generally, we will delete your personal information after an unsuccessful application.  If your application for employment is successful, we will transfer some or all of the personal information we have collected about you to your Human Resources file.
