An Equity Strategy Analyst 2 contributes to the management of IAG Equity investment strategies and guidance portfolios, provides in-depth equity research support for advisors with customized discretionary or non-discretionary equity holdings across all Truist Wealth channels, and contributes to company, sector and strategy commentaries and communications.

  • Have a deep understanding the fundamental business characteristics as well as risk and return drivers of the companies in their areas of coverage.
  • Monitor companies under coverage by reviewing quarterly earnings results, company presentations and conference calls, meeting with companies when practicable (in town), following current industry trends and developments, and reviewing company filings such as 10K's, Q's etc.
  • Contribute as needed to the development and maintenance of approved purchase, retention and sell lists customized to meet channel-specific business needs.
  • Contribute to the management of the IAG equity strategy and guidance portfolios through buy and sell recommendations to the team regarding companies within coverage universe.
  • Respond thoroughly and insightfully to advisor inquires on companies within the coverage universe.
  • Contribute to IAG Equity team communications including monthly and quarterly commentaries, analyst presentations on PWM calls.
  • Bespoke research as needed for special client situations.
  • Provide input and collaborate with the Portfolio Strategy team on issues related to individual equities


QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics or related discipline or field of study.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in portfolio management, equity research and/or analysis.
  • Existing Investment Advisory Representative registration (Series 65) or knowledge and professional skills to meet registration requirements or waiver qualifications (such as CFA or CFP).
  • Strong investment acumen, critical thinking skills, and knowledge of foundational investment concepts.
  • Deep understanding of fundamental equity analysis and equity portfolio performance drivers.
  • Thorough understanding of the sources of investment risk and risk management tools and techniques.
  • Proficiency with investment analytical tools such as Factset, Bloomberg, and Excel to facilitate investment analysis.
  • Proficiency with MS Office communications tools such as Word and PowerPoint to develop or edit written collateral materials supporting equity models and strategies.
  • Ability to effectively communicate investment concepts, strategies and results to PWM teammates, business leaders, and clients.
  • Preferred Qualifications: In addition to the required qualifications:
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation or MBA or other advanced degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or other related field.
  • 10+years of equity portfolio management and/or research experience.
  • Significant written and oral communications experience, including presentations in small and large group settings.
