About This Job

As a Senior Enterprise Risk Management Analyst, you will partner with leadership in support of Enterprise Risk Management and key risk governance activities, special projects, and Executive, Board, and Committee level initiatives. Also incorporates tracking and capabilities in support of governance pillars (i.e. policy and procedure reviews, top risk scorecards, charters, etc.) for operational functions, all aimed at establishing a strong risk management framework within Commerce Bancshares, Inc. (CBI).

Essential Functions
  • Collaborate with other Business Units and Risk Management Technology Team to help define business requirements, develop roadmaps, and ensure successful design, plan and coordination over resources, and timing of key enterprise risk management deliverables.
  • Build strong relationships and support initiatives from start to finish ensuring requirements and timelines are properly communicated and met.
  • Facilitate working/visioning sessions as needed to coordinate dependencies with cross-functional teams internally.
  • Qualify user acceptance criteria needed and develop reasonable schedules aligned with ERM initiatives.
  • Provide management with status updates related to key objectives, issues, and overall progress.
  • Assemble, track, organize, and distribute agendas, materials, reports, and any other defined work.
  • Assist with gathering data and documentation for risk management committees including the adherence of file management guidelines.
  • Upload defined documentation to core systems serving as central repository for regulators, executives, board of directors, and other bank stakeholders.
  • Actively support annual report related activities and manages quarterly meeting logistics aligned with governance committees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to apply discretion and sound judgement to solve problems efficiently and effectively.
  • Ability to learn and maintain a solid understanding of Risk Management functions aligned with CBIs operations, business segments, and key risk metrics.
  • Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and cross-functional relationship building skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels in the company.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and deliverables simultaneously through a systematic process.
  • Strong project management and planning skills while able to pivot quickly to changing priorities.
  • Inquisitive, collaborative, and strong team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to gain consensus among diverse stakeholder groups to drive initiatives to completion while working on several initiatives concurrently.
  • Operates independently to identify, prioritize, monitor, communicate and/or resolve issues.
  • Adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook while casting a positive shadow aligned with our culture and Core Values.
  • Advanced level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • 3+ years of risk management, legal, internal audit, compliance, or project management experience or equivalent technical knowledge.
