Senior Director Business Analysis: Head of Credit Card Insights
As the Head of Card Insights, you will be responsible for leading a multi-disciplinary insights team consisting of both market researchers and business analysts, that is responsible for ensuring that Card Team Leadership receives a coherent, consistent understanding of prospects and customers, including Capital One's current standing with them and progress against goals over time. Additionally, you will be responsible for the identification and integration of best insights practices as well as the discovery and utilization of new capabilities and new sources of information.
Responsibilities will include:
- Harnessing existing insights gathered by the Card Insights team as well as other insights practitioners across the company to create a holistic picture of prospects and customers for the Card Leadership Team.
- Leading the discovery of new sources of information, market trends, and technology that push the boundaries of how Capital One uses data to understand consumers, enhance their experiences, predict their behavior, and anticipate their future needs
- Helping identify the interrelationships among consumer segments and segment populations to develop appropriate migration strategies between these
- Gathering insights to inform new product launches, in-market claims, positioning, campaign concepts, and new value propositions
- Facilitating the adoption of best practices, tools, and vendors by acting as an advisor and by drawing on the experiences of insights practitioners across other business units, and other external, best-in-class insights organizations
- Furthering the Card Insights into a trusted, strategic partner, and elevating the usage of insights to be source of competitive advantage in how Capital One goes to market
- Architecting a path to being able to deliver strategic recommendations that integrate multiple sources of insights to tell a holistic story that influences decision making in the Card business
- Leading and developing a team of Insights professionals
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- At least 2 years of experience in quantitative analysis
- At least 2 years of experience in qualitative analysis
- At least 2 years of experience in people management
- At least 2 years of experience in project management
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 10 years financial services or retail industry experience
- At least 10 years experience in strategy consulting, market research, or data science
- At least 5 years managing direct reports
- Proven ability to build and maintain trusted relationships across all levels of a complex organization
- Strong communication and storytelling skills
- Strong business acumen and analysis skills
- Pattern recognition; horizontal thinker and synthesizer
- Proven ability to demonstrate application of Insights within strategic decision making
- Deep knowledge around many types of research methodologies and emerging technologies including how they impact the research landscape and can be leveraged to deliver predictive insights
- Professional agility that enables navigation of rapidly changing dynamics of the industry and marketplace
- High energy with ability to get the job done
