Description

Position Summary

Caris Life Sciences is looking for a sharp, driven and goal-oriented Senior Data Science Analyst to provide informatics support for target discovery and R&D missions. The candidate will be responsible for developing algorithms and analytic pipelines to drive forward Caris' research initiatives. The successful candidate will possess proficient analytical capability, solid scientific background and strong communication skills. We are looking for team oriented, hands on experts with a passion for personalized medicine and innovation in statistical and mathematical analyses.

Job Responsibilities

  • Developing and validating tools for target discovery and R&D support.
  • Tasked with developing, implementing, refining, and testing algorithms and workflows to achieve the specific goal in the project.
  • Statistical support for design and development of quality control process for diagnostic assays and products.
  • Manipulate and process large multisource data sets.
  • Respond to and manage ad hoc requests to ensure accurate, in-depth results/data are delivered in a timely manner.
  • Review clinical study reports for statistical content.
  • Provide general informatics support for laboratory research, technology development and clinical studies.
  • Adhere to coding and documentation standards and manage deliverables for area of responsibility.


Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field with exposure to cancer biology.
  • 2+ years of professional experiences in working with large data sets, structured and unstructured, that include (but not limited to) data wrangling and modeling.
  • Ability to understand biological/pathological questions and formulate statistical and data analysis methods to provide solution to novel problems.
  • Ability to query complex data from database.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills to explain complex technical details in clear language.
  • Proficiency in modern programming languages including Python and/or R.
  • Proficiency in Linux environment.
  • Conditions of Employment: Individuals must successfully complete pre-employment process, which includes criminal background check, drug screening, and reference verification. Also, individual must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 by the date of hire to be considered for U.S.-based jobs, if not currently employed by Caris Life Sciences.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in developing databases (SQL and noSQL) and data-driven applications.
  • Experience with state-of-the-art machine learning and deep learning methods and frameworks.
  • Familiar with visualization tools including Tableau, Looker, Plotly and/or Bekeh.
