Overview
The Data Engineer will partner with a team of both onshore and offshore resources, including analysts, data scientists, machine learning engineers and internal business stakeholders. The candidate will devise data architecture strategies, as well as design, develop, and modify data infrastructure to accelerate the processes of data analysis and reporting. They will work with a team of data engineers to evaluate the design, selection, and implementation of database changes by comparing them with business requirements and design documents. Finally, they will assess system performance and Identify areas for improvement in current systems, as well as audit the data infrastructure regularly to maintain quality and security.

Primary Responsibilities
- Build processes to support data transformation, workload management, data structures, dependency, and the management of metadata
- Perform ETL, ELT operations and administration of data and systems securely and in accordance with enterprise data governance standards.
- Monitor and maintain data pipelines to ensure high service availability to ML models and BI tools in live production environments.
- Create scripts and programs to automate data operations.
- Design and implement data solutions using industry best practices, to build and optimize data sets, 'big data' data pipelines and architectures.
- Work with Data Scientists and ML Engineers to understand data models and optimize data solutions accordingly.
Additional Primary Responsibilities
- Strong experience with a data engineering background including ETL tools and process, with experience handling a large variety of data sets
- Extensive experience with developing enterprise data solutions on multiple cloud platforms such as AWS (S3, Redshift, Glue, ECS) and GCP (Cloud Storage, BigQuery, Container Engine)
- Experience with information management systems, data security best practices and technologies including data warehousing, analytics, and business intelligence
- Proficiency with workflow orchestration tools, concepts, workflow performance, scaling, and optimization. Security & privacy principles
- Proficiency with SQL and Python with a focus on data engineering (Ex: Pandas, PySpark)
- Excellent communication skills, detail-oriented, and work well within a diverse team in a virtual environment.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's or Bachelor's degree in business analytics, computer science, mathematics, or engineering is preferred
- 5-6+ years of relevant experience with detailed knowledge of data warehouse technical architectures, infrastructure components, ETL/ ELT, SQL, and reporting/analytic tools.
