Functions may include database architecture, engineering, design, optimization, security, and administration; as well as data modeling, big data development, Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) development, storage engineering, data warehousing, data provisioning and other similar roles. Responsibilities may include Platform-as-a-Service and Cloud solution with a focus on data stores and associated eco systems. Duties may include management of design services, providing sizing and configuration assistance, ensuring strict data quality, and performing needs assessments.
Analyzes current business practices, processes and procedures as well as identifying future business opportunities for leveraging data storage and retrieval system capabilities. Manages relationships with software and hardware vendors to understand the potential architectural impact of different vendor strategies and data acquisition. May design schemas, write SQL or other data markup scripting and helps to support development of Analytics and Applications that build on top of data. Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Informatica PowerCenter development with an emphasis on working with a diverse set of sources and targets, implementing auditing, error trapping/tracking, reusability and restartablilty, and the ability to troubleshoot and performance tune Informatica mappings, sessions and workflows
  • Development of Informatica PowerExchange CDC Data Mappings and workflows to support real time ETL and Reporting
  • Development of PL/SQL to include execution of a number of queries in one block using single command, provide features to handle exceptions, extensive error checking, and create a PL/SQL unit such as procedures, functions, packages, triggers, and types, which are stored in the database for reuse by applications
  • Design ETL within Data Warehouse and Operational Data Stores that are leveraged across the business to enable data driven decisions
  • Lead team design, solutioning, development and support efforts
  • Provide direction and mentor Team members
  • Day to Day collaboration with Scrum Teams, providing support to our developers and testers
  • Participation in a rotation for operations support, prod and non-prod
  • Participation in software release and deployment activities
  • ETL and Database tuning
  • Provide scalable solutions for handling large data volumes (Terabytes of data)
  • Develop design specifications, unit test plans, and troubleshoot client issues
  • Work within an Agile Methodology environment for delivery

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • 7+ years of Informatica PowerCenter experience with an emphasis on working with a diverse set of sources and targets, implementing auditing, error trapping/tracking, reusability and restartablilty, and the ability to troubleshoot and performance tune Informatica mappings, sessions and workflows
  • 7+ years of PL/SQL or T-SQL experience
  • Deep understanding of Data Warehousing principles with hands on experience with slowly changing dimensions and fact tables
  • Exadata, Teradata, or Netezza Appliance database expertise
  • Detailed work ethics around analysis and coding practices


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Informatica PowerExchange CDC experience on Oracle, DB2, and Mainframe
  • Cloud based experience (OpenShift, Kubernetes, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure)
  • TWS experience
  • Github (or GIT)
  • Optum Infrastructure Experience
  • UHC MRIS Business Application experience (FOX Claims, FOX EDI, AoP, Digital Services, APEX)
  • Excellent communications and collaboration skills
  • Accountability in deliverables with the ability to work independently
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and meet deadlines
