As a Data Engineering Consultant, you will be in a key role to design, architect, implementation and maintenance of Data Warehouse (Snowflake) and ETL processes. You will be responsible for the following: Data load strategy and methods, Integrating Kafka topics, ingestion of structured and semi-structured files and streaming data into Snowflake, setting up integration points including loading On-Prem Kafka topics, files into Snowflake, building Job scheduling and maintenance framework, performance tuning and management, validation checks and documentation, etc.
In this role you will monitor and assess overall standards and procedures and assist in incorporating and implementing best practices. You will also consult with users, determine requirements and recommend database design and query best practices, and support general database administration responsibilities including ongoing production support and system/software upgrades and modernization.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide technical expertise in building architecture, design and engineering for data warehouse and BI solution using modernization technology stack including Snowflake, Ingestion through Kafka, Streaming, ETL and Database development in the Public Cloud (Azure) and API Space
• Experience in developing Snowflake Data warehouse on public cloud (Azure) including development, designing, data acquisition, data integration, loading data through kafka topics, database admin and role management
• Closely working with Tech Lead, Onshore partners, deployment, and infrastructure teams
• Functions may include database architecture, engineering, design, optimization, security, and administration; as well as data modelling, data warehouse development, Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL / ELT) development, storage engineering, data warehousing, data provisioning and other similar roles. Responsibilities may include Platform-as-a-Service and Cloud solution with a focus on data stores and associated eco systems. Duties may include management of design services, providing sizing and configuration assistance.
• Create a common framework and repository for the development of Modern APIs available to the Optum Product Engineering Team
• Technically hands on and excellent in Design, Coding and Testing
• Collectively responsible for end to end product quality
• Participates and contributes in Sprint Ceremonies

Required Qualifications:

• 4+ years of undergrad degree or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of working on multiple layer of technology
• 5+ working experience of database (SQL or PL/SQL), Able to create database, write queries, stored procedures. At-least one project development in Snowflake
• 5+ Experience in developing and maintaining large data warehouse, scheduling jobs, running and monitoring refreshes
• Experience building data pipelines & continuous integration on Snowflake with skills Python / Java / Scala, APIs, Azure Data factory, Kafka and Kafka Streams, App services
• Kafka Integration: Good experience in ingesting Kafka Topics and build real time data warehouse, set up connections and integration services to load topics and files into warehouse
• Metadata management

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience developing Java RESTful Services using SpringBoot
• Experience with Microservices, Rest API, Automation Frameworks Selenium WebDriver etc
• Experience of developing cloud based API gateways would be highly desirable
• Experience / exposure to API integration frameworks
• Experience in the healthcare industry
• Cloud: Working Experience or good knowledge of cloud platform (e.g. OpenShift, Kubernetes, Azure)
• Good understanding of Microservices architecture
• Ability to establish repeatable processes, best practices and implement version control software in a Cloud team environment

Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, or New York City Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut/Nevada/New York City residents is $90,500 to $161,600.
