What You'll Do
- Focus on large initiatives within the team, including technical design / delivery of complex features across multiple systems as H-E-B improves the customer and Partner user experiences
- Support the Data Governance Principles including metadata management and data quality and integrate them across systems and business processes.
- Implement capabilities to manage data lineage, data glossaries, and data quality measurements. Experience with Informatica EDC, Axon or similar tools.
- Recommend improvements to overall application system design, architecture, security, scalability, reliability, and performance
- Identify ways to improve codebases, solutions to complex problems; effectively propose paths forward to drive outcomes
- Diagnose / troubleshoot extremely complex issues
- Create documentation and training related to technology stacks and standards.
Who You Are
- You have a related degree or comparable formal training, certification, or work experience
- You have 4+ years as an experienced data engineer focused on data governance (preferrably in an enterprise environment)
- Strong experience with metadata management tolls and platforms (such as Collibra, or similar tools)
- You have deep knowledge of multiple technologies, including technology used at H-E-B
- You understand cross-tech stacks and scalability and reliability implications
- You have skills in multiple languages, technologies, and frameworks and can quickly on-board to projects in minimal time
- You're capable of learning new technologies, processes, or business quickly and effectively
- You approach problem-solving holistically and consider solutions through a combination of technology and processes
- You can coordinate work for a group of engineers on major initiatives
