Senior Data Analyst/Engineer

LS Technologies, LLC is seeking a systems engineer to provide support for the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) NextGen Program office for machine learning and artificial intelligence projects. The successful candidate will have a focused interest in data analytics, data synthesis, statistical analyses, machine learning, and artificial intelligence methods. Familiarization with digital twin, FAA analytics concepts is a bonus. The candidate will help provide strategic direction to LST and the FAA for data analytics projects. Previous experience with FAA NextGen research and planning is a bonus.

Responsibilities:

• You will work with various partners to help drive analytics, enablement and data-driven decision-making for our engineering teams
• You get to use, integrate and analyze product, infrastructure and logistics data to find insights for engineers and leaders
• You will get the opportunity to learn and use datasets and tools that engineering leverages such as AWS, GCP, Datadog, Splunk and many more
• Our goal is to help provide engineering with data solutions through self-service such as interactive dashboards and documentation

• Develop SQL queries, perform analyses and build visualizations that support engineering leadership or programs
• Promote data to drive and elevate decisions and measure success within Zendesk Engineering
• Develop data solutions that enable self-service by getting key data to decision-makers
• Help integrate data from outside sources into BigQuery and/or Athena for further optimization
• Implement consistent/universal metrics across engineering teams
• Build relationships and collaborate with internal engineering, product, and enterprise data and analytics teams

Desired Experience

• Experience with AWS Athena and/or Google BigQuery
• Background working with large data sets and/or data APIs together with cloud object storage such as AWS or GCP
• Familiarity or curiosity about modeling/forecasting data (Python, R, is a plus)
• Use of other monitoring or observability software (Splunk, DataDog, etc)
• 3+ years of experience in the analytics space
• Advanced proficiency in SQL
• Experience with data visualization/BI tools (e.g, Tableau, Looker, etc.)
• Internally motivated, self-starter with analytical curiosity to help find insights and show the value of data-driven decision making
• Ability to work cross-functionally and connect with technical and non-technical teams

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field with 10+ years' experience

• Travel 0 - 20%
