Job summary
The Red Hat Americas Business Finance team is looking for a Senior Data Analyst to join us in Raleigh, NC. In this role, you will support data analysis and visualization projects. You will work closely with data scientists, data engineers, and sales stakeholders to gather business requirements and develop highly impactful data analysis, interactive dashboards, and key insights. You'll need to have experience in the area of sales finance and analytics. To succeed in this role, candidates will need to have project experience in data wrangling, data storytelling, and visualization best practices.
Primary job responsibilities

  • Work with stakeholders to identify and prioritize development of datasets to support analysis
  • Synthesize business requirements into visual stories, dashboards, and data products that maximize adoption among technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Work with data engineers to ensure best practices for data consumption and automation of analyses
  • Develop intuitive, insightful, and engaging interactive dashboards and data products that enable efficient, data-driven decision making
  • Perform data validation and testing to ensure accuracy
  • Partner with peer data visualization experts to share best practices and drive consistency in approach across the enterprise
  • Participate in various structured and ad hoc analysis projects
  • Build cross-functional relationships with business units to cultivate successful long-term partnerships


Required skills

  • 3+ years of experience in business intelligence or analytics
  • Proficiency in Tableau (dashboard creation, data automation, row level security)
  • Experienced in SQL and Python (Pandas) for ETL and data transformation
  • Passionate about data-driven decision making and ability to perform analysis on large datasets
  • Ability to provide creative, proactive solutions to executive stakeholders
  • Good troubleshooting skills and the ability to think critically through issues and problems
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills
  • Degree in analytics, computer science, statistics, financial mathematics, or other quantitative disciplines is a plus
