Job Description
As an experienced professional in Business Systems Analysis within Corporate and Investment Bank, Digital & Platform Services, you'll shape the technology solutions that drive strategic initiatives across the firm. Working at the intersection of business and technology, you'll interact with colleagues in various lines of businesses to learn about challenges and opportunities, and translate that insight into high-quality solutions. In addition to working with the development team to create new solutions, you'll help optimize existing technology and identify new capabilities. While your role requires deep technological skills - including expertise in everything from data management to functional design - it also hinges on teamwork and leadership. You'll offer clear guidance and feedback to your Business Analysis colleagues, while promoting the values, culture, and brand of JPMorgan Chase & Co.
This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of experience in a business analyst or equivalent role
  • Advanced knowledge of business processes and data analysis, as well as the ability to construct complex data queries and collaborate with colleagues
  • Ability to liaison between lines of business and development teams, translating strategic goals into technology solutions, and vice versa
  • Experience in project management, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning
  • Understanding of business needs, including how data is used and managed, and functional design
  • Ability to work collaboratively in global teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals
  • Solid understanding of Domain Driven Design (DDD) including, but not limited to, context maps, context cards, anti-corruption layer, etc.
  • Write SQL queries for data analysis of existing application business flows
  • Detailed understanding & experience of end-to-end software development frameworks like Agile, Scrum
  • Well versed with JIRA; creating stories, tracking story progress, etc.
  • Mapping functional requirements to components to enable common solution design across the platform
  • Engagement with Product Owner to ensure that requirements are sufficiently communicated to enable technical design, estimation and build:
    • Verification that use cases cover identified flows
    • Gap analysis of changes required
  • Hands on experience in the functional design of complex enterprise systems
  • Creation of the activity flow diagrams for different use cases, including clear segregation of functionality based on the context
  • Creation of user stories with very clear description and greater level of detail including input and output fields, all the use cases (positive and negative), leveraging techniques like spec by example, Gherkin syntax, or other structured specification approaches
  • Review functional solution designs with Architects and collaborating with engineering teams to agree API's, interactions etc. where required
  • Basic understanding of key technology concepts like async communication (messaging) vs sync communication (RESTful, GraphQL, etc.)
  • Maintaining a groomed, healthy, and prioritized product backlog (for at least 2 sprints) all the time, enabling teams to pick up stories efficiently and effectively
  • Experience with tools like Postman, SQL developer and MS Visio is desired
