The Job:

The Business Intelligence (BI) team is committed to democratizing data—making it easy to access at the right time, in the right format, for all users. We develop self-service resources, perform complex analyses, author compelling visualizations, and unearth insights for teams across Tango Card. Collaborating with executive stakeholders, we create solutions that are used to make strategic decisions, immediately contributing to Tango Card’s mission to make rewards easy to send and awesome to receive. Reports To: Director, Business Intelligence

As a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst at Tango Card, you’ll:

  • Collaborate with business owners to understand short and long-term goals and author technical requirements to meet business needs
  • Develop and evolve dashboards, self-service reporting resources, and analytic models that accelerate operations and strategic organization decisions
  • Define requirements and develop prototypes for data models in collaboration with the Business Intelligence Architect and Director to make data more accessible, consistent, and clear
  • Apply advanced data visualization techniques, resources, and libraries to business problems, presenting information in a format that’s intuitive, useful, and flexible
  • Develop predictive analytic models to surface insights and facilitate proactive decision-making
  • Lead process and system improvements that promote data integrity and adoption of best practices as well as generate operational efficiencies across teams
  • Present data and solutions effectively across geographically dispersed teams from a diverse set of technical backgrounds, including leadership and executive teams

To be effective in our Senior Business Intelligence Analyst role, you must have:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience designing, developing, testing, and implementing high-performance, scalable, and secure business intelligence and analytic solutions in a high-volume environment, directly serving stakeholders across all levels of the organization
  • Deep experience being a subject matter expert and solving ambiguous problems while either leading deliverables within a rapidly growing BI function or helping build a BI function from the ground up
  • Advanced proficiencies in SQL, working directly in a data warehouse or data lake (cleaning and preparing data, querying and conducting exploratory analysis, and authoring optimized views and jobs), and leading requirements gathering across multiple applications and business functions
  • A passion for maintaining exemplary communication through a customer-focused approach while working independently across multiple projects
  • Exceptional presentation and collaboration skills, both written and verbal 

Our ideal Senior Business Intelligence Analyst at Tango Card will have most of the following skills and experience:

  • Proficiency using R and/or Python
  • Data modeling and creating prototypes from broad requirements
  • Familiarity with Tableau, Git/GitHub, Jira, Agile workflows, and predictive modeling is a plus
  • Willingness to collaborate, embrace change, and apply entrepreneurial approaches to analytic solutions
