The Information Technology team at Thermo Fisher is a global function with direct, deep connectivity. We support thousands of systems and hundreds of applications worldwide, and seek constantly to drive greater integration across platforms, harnessing a core suite of applications around the globe to drive business growth and enable process optimization.
The Senior IT Business Analyst provides IT partnership with selected business units while providing business and systems analysis in order to enable key initiatives and strategies within the Biosciences (BID) Division.
What will you do?
- Identify and progress on opportunities to drive business efficiency.
- Work multi-functionally with global and local teams to implement solutions that are aligned with the business strategy and technology strategy.
- Understand at a high level the business processes and technologies in use, including how the work and data flow through the organization.
- Lead information gathering sessions with business partners to understand and gather current and desired business capabilities.
- Use critical thinking skills to assess and engage domain experts in addressing potential gaps or risks.
- Ability to influence and prioritize to drive maximum business value.
- Assess relevance/alignment of requirements against business objectives, compliance, technology, and priorities.
- Act as the liaison between business and IT communities, ensuring strong, collaborative relationships.
- Support in implementation, testing, and improving IT systems.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Science, Information Technology, Engineering, related field or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.
Experience:
- Meaningful experience in a business-facing IT organization with proficiency in partnering with the business community preferably in the Life Sciences industry
- Demonstrated capabilities in IT Business Analysis or a similar role in applying knowledge of the business, industry, and technology to address business problems and opportunities
- Good understanding of business processes related to working on ERP, CRM, and/or MES systems.
