About Assurance
Assurance IQ is a technology company headquartered in Seattle. We were acquired by Prudential (NYSE: PRU) to further the joint mission of improving financial wellness across the world.
At Assurance, we simplify the complex world of insurance and financial services into straightforward, valuable solutions to improve people's lives. We start by asking customers a few questions, so our system can learn about their needs; from there, our ground-breaking, proprietary platform takes over and analyzes the thousands of data points that make customers unique to create custom-tailored plans for each customer. Our platform serves as the intersection between customer and seller, technology, and the human touch.
At Assurance, we are innovative, persevering, humble, collaborative, and authentic, and we're working together to improve the lives of millions!
About the Position
This position is responsible for using data to help a business team provide transparency into their daily operations and identifying areas for improvement. A great Business Analyst will be eager to dig into the details and find insights that can help their team improve their processes, products and services.
It’s important to distinguish between two similar, but very different roles:
Business Intelligence Analyst: Really curious, enthusiastic, cares about finding the answers to questions that people bring them. Loves digging into the data, building dashboards and having their "product" be answers, data, and insights. A business analyst has multiple career paths ahead of them as an individual contributor. They could grow into a Data Scientist, a Product Manager or move into Business Operations. There is also the people management pathway of managing other business analysts.
Business Operations Analyst: Someone who is responsible for moving an area of the business forward. Versatile and full of grit. Has core competencies that are very data-focused, but has data as an input into their decision making and not as an end-product. Can be asked to discover things and create dashboards, but also to define requirements, write process docs, make business plan proposals.
