What's This Role?
As a Sr. Business Analyst for the Illustrations application, you will dig deep into Universal Life insurance products and calculations to help define the details of how to show the value of insurance products through technology. You will work on a cross-functional team of product managers, engineers, designers and subject matter experts in an agile methodology to deliver on outcomes.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Business Expertise : Expertise in Universal Life insurance products with a broad understanding of general insurance concepts and value projections. Ability to articulate this knowledge as an expert at the department level and apply it in determining calculation related impacts to illustration ledgers.
  • Current State, Future State and Gap Analysis: Independently assess and communicate current state across multiple processes, business areas and domains while consulting with and mentoring other Business Analysts. Ability to think strategically in understanding business drivers to define "target state" solutions.
  • Gather Requirements: Responsible for leading requirement gathering for efforts across multiple business domains or from other business analysts.
  • Author User Stories and/or Features: Author user stories and/or features independently with Medium to high complexity and sometimes across multiple teams. Act as a subject matter expert throughout the development process as needs arise.
  • Test Plan Creation: Support solution delivery by creating test plans and using actuarial testing tools to generate expected results. Assist with test execution for end to end scenarios.
  • Leadership: Works independently and may coordinate work for others and/or provide mentorship. May provide business direction, guidance, and decisions to development and delivery teams.

  • 4-5 years of prior experience demonstrating business analysis
  • Knowledge and abilities to position themselves as the communications expert and go to resource for key information and decisions making
  • Certifications demonstrating mastery of role specific competencies
  • Familiarity of agile & scrum development environments
  • Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing solutions; exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, certifications and experience.
