With Optum you are in a unique position to help build a better healthcare system that can improve the health outcomes through defining and designing forward looking architecture and implementation strategies from a technology standpoint. This is a unique opportunity that provides extensive scope to efficiently design data systems to solve business opportunities towards improving patient health using the data as a backbone and help derive valuable insights. As a Sr. Architecture Analyst, you will be primarily evaluating business data analytics use cases, define efficient data modeling to enable optimal data processing and accelerate user adoption. With data insights derived from multiple data domains and overlapping use cases, you will find opportunities for optimization and efficient modeling and design to find synergies across multiple initiatives. You will also be providing architecture solutions as needed to build efficient systems using cutting edge technologies and review solutions with architecture boards and take it forward for implementation and see through it towards completion.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide data strategy and governance oversight for OBHT data insights and analytics programs
  • Create/maintain data and solution architecture artifacts to support OBHT data products and solutions
  • Develop data architecture solutions that are aligned with enterprise data management and data architecture strategy
  • Create high level architecture and data solution design for projects (conceptual model, integration model, sourcing) in alignment with the portfolio and enterprise data strategy
  • Understand and communicate different architectural models/strategies that are consistent with business strategies
  • Analyze business processes, operational applications, and source data to understand dependencies, anomalies and implicit business rules
  • Design, develop and maintain logical and physical data models
  • Perform data profiling and analysis and develop data models that correspond to the business and technical requirements
  • Partner with other architects to ensure alignment and integration across portfolio boundaries and promote enterprise architecture vision
  • Ensure the architecture definition is operationally sustainable and efficient

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field with 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Deep logical and physical data modeling experience using the Entity Relationship Diagram (ERD) methodology and applied experience and expertise in data architecture concepts (e.g., model management, meta-data management, data governance)
  • Experience developing a data strategy and working with enterprise architecture and influencing the associated policies
  • Experience delivering concurrent, large information management projects at all phases-from project definition through design and delivery
  • Demonstrated proficiency in requirements gathering and solution architecture definition to achieve the goals

Preferred Qualifications:

 

 

  • Hands on experience on Snowflake cloud database or similar cloud native database systems
  • Public & Private cloud experience in infrastructure, security and data processing design areas
  • Healthcare data domain and modeling experience
  • Experience with data streams (Kafka, similar) and event driven architecture
  • Healthcare industry specific knowledge that includes working knowledge of industry data standards and architectures (FHIR, HL7)
  • Optional knowledge in advanced technologies like ML/AI, Graph
  • In depth knowledge on understanding and deriving insights from data (healthcare preferred)
  • Performance management and evaluation for large scale data processing projects that needs to scale

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
