Analytics Manager

As the analytics leader on Zipcar's core platform team, your mission is to build and scale Zipcar's data analytics platform. The candidate will manage and mentor a team of data analytics experts, overseeing analytics and reporting for Zipcar. The candidate in this position will combine strong data modeling and analytics skills with the ability to partner with leaders across product, operations, customer service, marketing, and engineering to support and implement data-driven decisions.

What you'll do:

• Build a scalable data eco-system, working with engineering and product leaders to drive Zipcar's data analytics strategy through both self-service and consultative analytics support models
• Act as champion for our self-service data reporting strategy
• Recruit, mentor and supervise technical data analysts while effectively managing analytics roadmap
• Lead cross-functional projects using advanced data modeling and analysis techniques to drive strategic decisions

• Communicate results and business insights to leaders and stakeholders across all levels of the organization
• Anticipate future demands of people and technology and advocate for team processes and growth
• Deliver high quality insights from a broad range of data, using a variety of tools and techniques (e.g. SQL, R, Looker etc.)
• Clearly define project deliverables, timelines, and dependencies for analytics team and internal stakeholders

What drives success for this role:

• Minimum 5 years of relevant analytics experience
• Minimum 2 years of managing a team of analysts, mentoring senior data analysts
• Excellent technical skills: expert SQL , experience building data visualizations with BI tools (Looker, Tableau, Spotfire) , experience with modern programming language (Python, R), and proficiency in MS Excel

• Experience working with AWS services (EC2, EMR, S3, Kinesis, etc.)
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and articulate ideas, analysis results, and recommendations
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to build relationships across multiple stakeholders
• Bachelor's degree in quantitative field, advanced degree is a plus
