ECS is seeking a Senior Analyst to work in our Washington, D.C. office.

Job Description:

As a member of a high-performing team, this role requires you to interface with customers and other stakeholders, understand and empathize with a highly technical team, create technical requirements from business needs, and translate technical solutions into business value. You will develop a deep understanding of business drivers, processes and technology that support the establishment of cloud computing services. You will support the team by setting/tracking expectations, enabling delivery, and managing relationships with customers, vendors, engineers, developers, and analysts.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain responsibility for the delivery of work products and contractual deliverables
  • Collaborate with technical SMEs to derive requirements
  • Maintain a healthy team atmosphere both with the direct delivery team, and with the extended customer teams
  • Have a working understating of the SDLC/SELC (Systems Development Life Cycle/ Systems Engineering Life Cycle)
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of the design, operation, and challenges encountered when building/managing a moderately complex information
  • Identifying and coordinating cross-team dependencies
  • Working with project management, development teams, and other departments to actively remove obstacles blocking progress and ensure program is within schedule
  • Manage long-term IT projects, performs design evaluations and works to complete projects within budget and scheduling restraints.
  • Provide high-level view of activities occurring within the enterprise and the impacts on information sharing initiatives.
  • Performs risk management, including identifying, prioritizing, and mitigating risks, and communicating and escalating risks and issues
  • Manage projects that may vary by project type, size, complexity, and project life cycle phases.
  • Support the development of briefings, agendas, and other general documentation support as directed, including training material and demonstration sessions for new and existing technologies to various DHS stakeholders.
  • Support a continuous improvement process by providing recommendations on improving products, services, and processes.
  • Develop Communication Plans
  • Develop and manage project schedules, including integrated project schedules, and plans using the tools as defined by the Government (i.e., Microsoft Project, JIRA).
  • Support Management of projects within schedule and budget and defined by the Government.


Required Skills:

  • Seven (7) years' experience in systems analysis and design of information systems programs
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal


Desired Skills:

  • Experience with database architecture and design
  • Strong requirement elicitation, analysis, and documentation skills
  • Experience planning, monitoring, and reporting on project status
  • Experience with Atlassian JIRA and Confluence
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities with tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team player, with strong interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively communicate and share knowledge with contacts at all levels. Skilled in developing collaborative relationships.
