Job Description

Role Purpose

Drive market share analysis working with Service Provider Networks analyst team and the Research Director. Market share coverage will include optical networks, data center interconnect, optical components and fixed access networks. This position will focus on researching telecom networking equipment manufacturers and service providers. You will work closely with deep subject-matter experts in all the technology domains mentioned previously to generate data which is of high strategic value to our clients.

Main Areas of Responsibility & Accountability

•Conduct primary and secondary research on products, services, vendors, and service providers

•Cultivate a deep understanding of telecom capex and service subscribers

•Develop relationships with product manufacturers and service providers in the telecom markets to facilitate primary research

•Work with wider Networks analyst team in the creation of market size, market forecasts, and market analysis in a variety of telecom and data networking markets

•Forge and maintain relationships with all players in the ecosystem, including equipment manufacturers, chip and component manufacturers, test and measurement providers, service providers, end-users, and investment analysts

•As you gain expertise and confidence, speak at conferences and present key data findings to customers

•Forge and maintain relationships with the trade and business press, providing useful data and opinion in publications, raising awareness of our services and brand

•Support enquiries from sales and customer service on client’s enquiries on our report

•Participate in custom consult work

•Act as liaison with production and editorial teams

Qualifications

•Bachelor's degree in economics, statistics, engineering or industry-related fields required; graduate degree or MBA is a plus

•Demonstrable experience in the telecom or data networking market

•An understanding of telecom/data networking technologies, vendors, enterprises, service providers, products, services, and market and technology trends

•Expert analytic, logic, and quantitative skills
