We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Sr. Security Engineer to design, implement, and maintain security controls, tools, and systems to protect FM:Systems products and the enterprise. This individual will work closely with other members of the Product, Software, Operations, IT, and Security teams to identify potential vulnerabilities and implement solutions to mitigate risks. The Sr. Security Engineer will stay up to date on the latest security trends, technologies, and techniques and provide thought leadership, guidance, and training to other members of the team, and advocate for continuous improvement. 

The chosen candidate for this role will work for FM:Systems. This position is opened to hiring an experienced remote worker based in the US.

In this role you will have the opportunity to:

  • Collaboratively develop information security strategy and engineer comprehensive cybersecurity architecture.
  • Develop, implement, and track the performance of security controls to protect information, infrastructure, and systems. 
  • Engage with enterprise and product engineers to drive continuous improvement. 
  • Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain security infrastructure and tooling. 
  • Monitor systems for irregular behavior and indicators of compromise. 
  • Educate, train, and support users and engineers on cybersecurity best practices. 
  • Lead and support incident response and forensic investigations 
  • Test software and systems for vulnerabilities and support the development of mitigations. 
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to communicate company security posture. 
  • Assist in completion of security-based RFPs and questionnaires.
  • Provide operational and administrative support to the enterprise risk management process by developing presentations, white papers, and leading decision briefings to the executive leadership team. 
  • Support the implementation and operation of processes, policies, and controls for various governance, risk, and compliance standards including NIST, FedRAMP, SOC 2, COBiT, PIPEDA, GDPR, CCPA, ISO 27002 
  • Document and maintain an Information Security Management System 
  • Assess third party suppliers (vendors) security posture by reviewing the scope, technology, and findings contained in a SOC 2 Type 2, ISO 27001:2013, FISMA/NIST Authority to Operate (ATO), or FedRAMP documentation. 

The successful candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience in information technology.
  • 5+ years of cybersecurity experience.
  • Hands-on experience in modern public cloud computing security, application security, networking security, cryptography, and DevOps.
  • Basic knowledge of IT Audit functions. 
  • 3-5 years’ Hands-on experience of Cloud (AWS or Azure).
  • Recent experience with Microsoft Server, IIS, .NET, PowerShell, Active Directory, Azure AD, Microsoft 365, and Intune. 
  • Audit experience (SOC 2, FedRAMP, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Experience working in a distributed workforce. 
  • Security, Microsoft, and AWS certifications strongly preferred. 
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence a plus.
