Do you have an expertise in analytical assay development for protein biologics? The Scientist I, Analytical Development is an innovative scientist and able to independently execute and analyze analytical tests for characterization of protein biologics. He/she will work closely with team members to understand the test requirements and ensure that results fall within these specifications.

Responsibilities:
• In collaboration with Sr. Scientist, Analytical Development, design, develop and optimize analytical methods for protein biologics and antibodies
• Perform a variety of biochemical and molecular biology assays including feasibility study and stability testing
• Author SOPs and technical documents, including project reports and data presentations
• Transfer of analytical methods to the RG (research-grade) and cGMP quality teams
• Complete project plans according to all specifications, including time-line and budget

Qualifications:

Education / Experience:
• BS/BA in biology, biochemistry, chemistry or chemical engineering and 2+ years' experience in the filed of analytical development, QC testing or related field

Skills and Knowledge:
• Hands-on experience with in vitro analytical assays for enzymatic activity, including gene editing enzymes (CRISPR-Cas9, IVT enzymes, etc), ELISA (titer and binding), electrophoresis, spectrophotometer, western blot and qPCR
• Experience in development and validation of different chromatographic methods for purity, including SEC, IEX and RP-HPLC is highly desired
• Experience with assay transfer, qualification and validation
• Proficient using analytical software packages including Excel and Prism (GraphPad) preferred
• Working experience in protein characterization including DLS (dynamic light scattering), DSC (differential scanning calorimetry), CD (circular dichroism) and MS (mass spectrometry) is a plus
