Amplify's Research and Measurement team is looking for a dedicated Research Associate to join our mCLASS Spanish team. The Research Associate will work as part of a research team on a variety of projects involving classroom assessment, instructional interventions, and instructional technology. This person will coordinate and implement research studies as well as disseminate results of field research studies that provide support for Amplify's Spanish literacy products and services. The ideal candidate pays close attention to detail and quality of work products, manages projects independently, and adapts well in a fast-paced environment with the ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities of the Research Associate:

  • Conduct reviews of relevant literature that supports the foundation of current and future products.
  • Coordinate research projects.
  • Research projects include small-scale pilot studies, as well as larger scale field studies to conduct item, assessment equating, validity, reliability, and efficacy analyses.
  • Manage research timelines and budgets.
  • Manage research study data including, but not limited to, organizing and merging data files.
  • Carry out initial statistical analyses of data sets, to help direct the data collection process.
  • Recruit schools for participation in research, provide materials, set up study logistics, check-in during data collection, and deliver incentives.
  • Hire, train, and manage field study personnel, often remotely, but with some in-person management as well.
  • Develop qualitative protocols, including surveys and observational rubrics, to compliment qualitative data collection.
  • Disseminate research results
  • Produce reports, position papers, and manuscripts for internal research purposes, external client review, and publication in peer-reviewed or refereed venues.


Basic Qualifications of the Research Associate:

  • Native or bilingual (Federal ILR Level 5) proficiency of the Spanish language, with a strong command of its nuanced rules in spelling, grammar and punctuation.
  • Full professional proficiency (Federal ILR Level 4) verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • 2+ years of applied research experience and experience conducting research studies.
  • Master's degree in education, educational psychology, linguistics, or other relevant field.
  • 1+ years work experience in a school.
  • Demonstrated understanding of literacy development in grades K-6.
