The Reporting and Management Information Analyst ensures the smooth and effective delivery of Pearson Online Classroom course sections, and provides training expertise, support, and ongoing monitoring of the student sectioning/rostering processes conducted by Pearson Virtual Schools (PVS) schools and internal PVS customer support teams. The Analyst develops deep product expertise related to section-creation and student sectioning processes and works to continually identify and implement ongoing efficiencies related to section set-up/creation, section representative training, and ongoing section-monitoring/audit processes.

The Reporting and Management Information Analyst is a team player that thrives in a process-oriented environment, loves data management and problem solving, has a strong customer-centric approach, and is comfortable with high-stakes and high-visibility priorities, timelines, and needs. The Analyst is a "do whatever it takes" type of person, willing to roll up his/her sleeves and dive into problem-solving scenarios. A strong focus on platform expertise, data management, systematic thinking processes, and a team-player attitude are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a deep understanding of the Pearson Online Classroom (Connexus) and its features, how they function, how to locate and extract data from it, how schools and internal support teams support the student journey through it, how to set up courses, and how to set up and manage course sections.
  • Execute the annual section-creation process to create sections for each course at each school, per school-specific parameters, and ensuring cross- team dependencies are met in a timely manner.
  • Provide subject matter expertise for the development and maintenance of the section representative training course, procedural handbook, how-to demos, troubleshooting tools, reference information, and related links and resources that help users implement the sectioning process.
  • Coordinate with internal training development teams to drive the development and update of sectioning training materials; work with the Professional Learning Facilitation team to suggest and support direct training sessions for schools and section representatives.
  • Provide sectioning role governance. Assign training course to newly assigned representatives, evaluate performance, assign user permissions based on successful completion. Maintain a current roster of trained and permissioned users (for over 900+ Section Representatives).
  • Ensure regular and accurate functioning of essential section creation, population, and monitoring tools, reports, and systems. Work with internal teams to refine, adjust, and add new features and tools as needed.
  • Oversee ongoing, year-long, cross-location audit systems. Access and review data from section-monitoring reports, analyze school use of sections, identify areas of needed support, and coordinate with school support teams to correct sectioning errors on a continual year-round basis.
  • Assist school representatives with understanding and resolving high-risk section-related issues that impact learning, reporting, and funding.
  • Collaborate with team members to problem-solve and troubleshoot various incoming platform support questions or inquiries.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Requirements

  • Degree, certification, or relevant professional experience in education, education technology, mathematics, data management, or a related field
  • Familiarity with Pearson Virtual Schools (PVS) learning platforms and data systems (Connexus) highly preferable
  • High degree of comfort and experience with technology, data systems, learning platforms, and reporting tools, preferably within an educationally based organization
  • High level of confidence and proficiency with data and reporting tools such as Excel and PowerBi
  • Self-Starter; ability to collect, organize, prioritize, and complete data-related projects; ability to self-organize and prioritize tasks and requests to accomplish goals in a timely manner
  • Strong customer focus; demonstrated experience of successfully working with clients and customers and across department to solve problems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability and interest in developing and improving operational support processes
  • Detail-oriented
  • High degree of flexibility; ability to handle simultaneous/concurrent needs and requests
  • High degree of decency, accountability, and collaboration; a true "team-player" focused on the mission of the organization
