Overview

Business Analysts II will work closely with the product owner(s) and the business to deliver the requirement documents, translate business use cases into technical descriptions. Business Analysts II represent the business community and IT in prioritizing, analyzing, and documenting business processes, identifying opportunities for improvement/enhancements and negotiating agreements and commitments between business partners (internal and external) and IT from requirements gathering to final implementation and maintenance. BA's work directly with clients/leadership at various levels within the company and with outside parties to research and identify operational business requirements with sufficient detail and clarity to allow IT staff to collaboratively develop the solution.

  • Work with product owner(s) and the business to deliver the requirement documents, translate business use cases into technical descriptions.
  • Validate the business deliverables to the data platform team.
  • Provide customer support and post implementation monitoring.
  • Troubleshoot field tools bugs.
  • Initiate problem analysis, explore solutions, prepare, and present information.
  • Facilitate user acceptance testing.
  • Conduct and assist Quality Assurance with development of testing criteria.
  • Facilitate user interviews and collect business use cases and pain points.
  • Work with platform team to implement/track maintenance product tasks and ensure delivery.
  • Assist in wireframe and product prototype design in discovery stage.
  • Participate in the development of system solution design for existing and new capabilities using a thorough understanding of business process and requirements as well as system capabilities and architecture.
  • Refresh and maintain the usage report for all products.

Some Essential Functions of this Position:

  • Demonstrate the ability to drive requirements gathering sessions independently or in conjunction with the Product Owner
  • Demonstrate strong competency in the requirements management processes and quality assurance (Testing) processes.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations when necessary.
  • Communicate with confidence and facts (supported by analysis and data) the impacts of scope changes to the delivery of projects.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with team members, internal partners, customers and others through the use of strong interpersonal skills.
  • Coordinate with respective areas to resolve issues and develop processes to accomplish shared goals.

Qualifications

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Arts Degree OR
  • Bachelor of Science Degree


Experience Requirement:

  • 2 to 4 years' experience designing technical business processes.
  • Experience with Project Management Methodology (PMM) including the development of project documentation.
  • Experience with Use Case development.
  • Experience with JAD/JAR sessions including functional and technical requirement gathering, development and translation to technical teams.
  • Experience with analytical tools, flowcharting tools such as Visio.
  • Experience at working both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to shift priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Competent and good understanding of platforms such as Jira, Miro Windows and UNIX.
  • Helpful to understand PowerBI, Tableau, or InVision
  • Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle Methodology (SDLC).
  • Testing knowledge across various testing cycles.
  • Solid knowledge of current Internet, Intranet, Extranet, client server architectures including SharePoint.
  • Certificate from a Business Analysis accreditation institution preferred, but not required.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
