Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, a quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience in working with datasets and conducting data analysis using SQL and Python.
  • Experience creating executive communications (e.g., memos, slide decks, etc.) and presenting to non-technical/analytics audiences.



Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Business Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Math, Physics, Engineering).
  • Experience designing data models or table schema.
  • Experience in application of machine learning such as supervised/unsupervised learning, forecasting, predictive modeling, etc.
  • Experience working in consulting, direct-to-consumer, or similar industries.
  • Experience working with multiple functions/domains and managing projects.

The YouTube Strategy, Business Operations (BizOps), and Analytics (SBA) team's mission is to make YouTube commercially sustainable and more valuable, by identifying and steering the business towards opportunities, guiding the organization to make the best possible decisions, and enabling effective implementation and operations. With teams world wide, SBA teams work with YouTube leadership across the product, engineering, and business organizations to address challenges and opportunities across the company, help chart the long-term direction for YouTube, and provide analytics and decision support for planning.

As a Quantitative Business Analyst within Analytics and Decision Support, you'll be part of a community of technical data analysts who work on impactful projects analyzing the content and distribution partnerships, the creator and user ecosystem, and business generation. You will help guide business leadership on optimizing the effectiveness and efficiency of our partner, operations, and business-facing teams. You will work on strategic business challenges centered on the economics of YouTube's content business. You will provide analytical support for the business teams, including performance measurement, causal impact, estimation, predictive modeling, and metric definition.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a thought leader in the creation of planning, strategy, objectives and key results (OKRs), and KPI development for the business domain. Make strategic and operational recommendations to achieve goals.
  • Utilize excellent communication skills to work cross-functionally with business leaders, Marketing, Operations, and Product teams in order to identify opportunities, design, and assess improvements to YouTube's business.
  • Make business recommendations using effective presentation skills, conveying findings at multiple levels including executive leadership, managers, and peers through visual displays of quantitative information.
  • Manage larger strategic and cross-functional initiatives both on an on-going basis and on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Conduct non-routine analyses, including data gathering from large and complex datasets, processing, analysis employing advanced statistical and machine learning methods, with ongoing deliverables to improve the quality of Insights teams.
