Great Opportunity to join Wholesale Payments technology team to help deliver next generation of our best in class payments processing infrastructure
The JP Morgan Payment processing platform is at the very heart of large portion of payments made throughout the world on a daily basis, from salaries to DDS to online purchases to real time inter-bank transfers.
Graphite is one of the primary applications within the wider Wholesale Payments Organization and the strategic solution to a wide range of payment processing flows. We are in early stages of a multi-year re-engineering program to improve efficiency, performance, scalability and automation in order to support increasing volumes, market complexity and customer demands.
Graphite Quality engineering team is looking for a hands-on Sr. Quality Engineering Analyst. The role, based in Tampa, US exists within an expanding technology team which is focused on delivering timely testing solutions in response to increasing business demand.
The role will involve quality and test advocacy and the individual will need to have hands-on QE and test automation experience, as well as strong leadership skills.
The role requires a high level of flexibility and ability to react quickly to changing business needs in a fast-paced environment driven by market pressures. The position will be accountable for large projects of high complexity, high risk and high visibility.
Key Responsibilities here:

  • Direct accountability of E2E Business flow testing of the code delivered in Sprints.
  • Direct accountability of E2E Regression testing for all the planned/unplanned released
  • Direct accountability for building and strategizing Test Automation Solutions. Hands-on delivery of E2E automation across multiple applications built with a varied set of tools/technologies. To be involved extensively in Test Planning, Strategizing, Designing and Architecting.
  • Ensure automation solution meets business requirements in an agile environment.
  • Identify design or distribution related issues based on deep understanding of architecture.
  • Hands-on involvement in Requirements analysis, Gap Analysis, Test Estimation, and use Automation Design expertise in building appropriate solutions for various needs.
  • Project's Progress and tracking .Where needed, carry out analysis of data points or metrics to track progress. Managing project effectively by defining milestones and schedules.
  • Facilitate Defect triage for projects being handled- hosts daily meetings to get updates on the defects, address potential impediments and link up defect deliveries with Sprint deliveries
  • Ensure automation solution meets business requirements in an agile environment.
  • Partner with business/ops, development, devops and production support to ensure the overall test strategy is fit for purpose
  • Liaise/coordinate with other groups (across sites) to coordinate/execute end-end testing.
  • Cultivate and maintain ongoing relationship and dialog with Product and Ops partners, Strategic PMO on vision, strategy and roadmaps.
  • Co-ordinate with project team members globally to ensure deliverables are met to agreed schedules.
  • Proactive identification of risk and issues and work out mitigation plan. Timely escalation.


Qualifications required here:

  • A university degree. Engineering, numerical, or computer science degrees preferred.
  • Self-Driven, 10+ years of experience in testing payment systems with detailed understanding of downstream apps.
  • Full understanding of SDLC, QA and Defect Lifecycle.
  • Excellent communication both written and verbal is must.
  • Payment domain expertize is a must-Multicurrency/SEPA/BACS/SWIFT/
  • Experience on testing of Payments functionality viz. inbound and outbound payments e.g. Credit Transfers, Direct Debits, Rejects, Returns, Refunds &Reversals etc.
  • Good understanding of MT and XML-ISO20022 Message Format
  • Hands on experience with Java and Selenium.
  • Conversant with Agile processes and Gherkin formats.
  • Very strong hands-on test execution, analytical and problem solving skills, with good decision making abilities.
  • Should have previous experience in testing middleware applications including MQ / UM.
  • Should have an understanding of the SWIFT FIN Service, accounting systems and should have experience in working with XML Message Formats.
  • Should have a good understanding of Unix and should be able to monitor and search logs, run scripts and monitor processes.
  • Should able to produce Test Completion Reports for each Test Phase. Should be able to work with JIRA/Zephyr.
  • Analytical mindset, creativity and commercial focus to deliver optimal solutions to complex issues.
  • Sound working experience with:
    • Java, Selenium, API/REST Services.
    • Enterprise scale messaging (MQ Series preferred)
    • Sound Unix and Linux background
    • Sound SQL and DB knowledge (Oracle, Cassandra)
    • Spring framework
    • Job scheduling framework
    • Continuous Integration model using Jenkins.
    • Excellent knowledge of working with XML different message formats and schema led validation.
