The Quality Analyst is responsible for testing their assigned product areas. This position will leverage their area of expertise regarding business knowledge on internal and dependent external applications, regulatory requirements to create and execute end user centric testing. This position will receive guidance, mentoring, and work direction from Sr. QA Analysts in some or all of these accountabilities.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Represents assigned products/microapps as a QA Analyst with a good understanding of product vision, objectives and metrics
  • Create test coverage across all impacted applications, identification of regression testing scenarios for each release from an end user perspective
  • Design and execute test cases across various devices & platforms based on browser analytics analysis
  • Enable review of test scenarios and test data coverage
  • Works directly with Business and Product owners as part of Scrum teams to support and improve testing of existing applications and shift left Quality processes related to assigned products
  • Coordinate release testing activities with Accessibility, Analytics and other Business testing teams based on the guidance from Sr. QA Analyst
  • Conduct data analysis to ensure proper integration with databases, APIs, vendor tools or other site components
  • Conduct cross functional/product analysis to understand dependencies and capabilities across multiple products
  • Identify expected systems behaviors for test scenarios (normal flows and alternate flows)
  • Identify test data and test date needs to support test script execution
  • Provide status update on testing progress
  • Support QE team with test data preparation including Business/Product teams coordination
  • Identify opportunities for automating the test activities including test design, execution and
  • reporting and work closely with E2E Automation team for creating frameworks for such opportunities
  • Escalate issues that are unable to be resolved by the scrum/project team
  • Participate in post release retrospectives and lessons learned

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant professional experience
  • 3+ years of experience in digital testing with emphasis on user acceptance testing
  • Experience with digital or software testing methodology, defect classifications, tracking and reporting tools (CA Agile, JIRA)
  • Experience with Agile software development lifecycle


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience establishing and maintaining relationships with Business teams
  • Digital products development and/or marketing experience
  • Prior work experience with health care or health insurance organizations
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to drive results and deliver on commitments
  • Ability to work under pressure with strict timelines in a fast-paced work environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with prior experience giving presentations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project and Visio

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $66,100 to $118,300. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $72,800 to $129,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
