Primary Responsibilities:

  • Working for the Sr. EHR Project Manager, provides overall support of the Optum EHR Data Migration & Abstraction Program and Quality Audit standards, and the Optum EHR Abstraction Team
  • Utilizing clinical expertise and knowledge, perform comprehensive audits on electronic medical record charts that have been abstracted to ensure accuracy and completeness of the data elements abstracted such as Problems, Medications, Allergies, Histories, Results and other data as defined in the project scope
  • Utilizes appropriate tools, process and techniques to perform audits
  • Maintains detail-focused Audit tracking in alignment with the Quality Audit standards
  • Identify variations from established Quality standards
  • Communicates findings to Sr. EHR Project Manager and Optum EHR Abstraction Team providing feedback and recommendations to resolve audit issues in a timely manner
  • Perform Data Abstractions to augment the Optum EHR Abstraction team as assigned
  • Engages with client-facing members through Project Discovery, Planning, and other phases in support of the overall Optum EHR Data Migration & Abstraction Program as assigned
  • Participates, supports, and assists with project-specific initiatives
  • Participates in the project-specific educational activities of the Optum EHR Abstraction Team
  • Participates in team meetings, conference calls
  • Assists in development of Quality policies, processes and standards
  • Other duties as assigned related to the support of the Optum EHR Data Migration & Abstraction Program

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
  • Certified Medical Coder

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary/hourly range for Colorado residents is $66,100 to $118,300. The salary/hourly range for Connecticut/Nevada residents is $72,800 to $129,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
