The Scoop:

The Program Analyst I provides operational maintenance and technical, analytical and reconciliation activities to support different aspects of ePrescribing (eRx), electronic prior authorization (ePA) and Formulary Benefit operations. In this key role, the analyst will be responsible for monitoring daily program-specific error reports, identifying service or technical gaps and driving to solutions. The Program Analyst will have direct oversight and accountability for managing and implementing existing and new client implementations under the direction of the eRx Manager. The analyst will act as subject matter expert on the prescribing program related member directory, formulary extract and real-time messaging specific questions from internal users. This team member will collaborate with Configuration Services team to implement the program for client's internal and external stakeholders to create best-in-class solutions that integrate technology, information, and business processes.

What You Get To Do:

  • Monitors and manages daily program error reports and reconciles the error related to formulary or benefit issues through cross-functional collaboration
  • Performs various analyses and tests related to the program and system changes and enhancements using existing or ad hoc queries as necessary to extract real-time transaction data
  • Actively participates in the Salesforce case queue monitoring and troubleshoots requests from creation to implementation.
  • Supports eRx Manager in vendor case management, vendor reporting and archiving for both eRx and ePA product offerings
  • Assists with vendor and client billing issues
  • Maintains working level knowledge of NCPDP and X12 standards and industry best practices within designated programs. Works with client teams and client shared services business partners to provide real-time transaction analysis and understand claim adjudication
  • Writes SQL queries from scratch to extract specific information, validates data, and prepares analysis reports for marketing, financial and program support
  • Partners with internal and external business partners in the development of new or enhanced applications
  • Supports monthly operational activities, implementation support and acts as subject matter expert (SME) for client on-boarding
  • Creates and maintains program document such as release notes, client oversight and communication, and distribute client-ready material, reference guides, FAQs, Sales/Marketing materials, etc.
  • Maintain relationship with Configuration Services, Account Management, Client Services and Formulary Services teams to resolve program related issues
  • Establishes and maintains working knowledge of configuration designs, partnering with adjudication services and configuration services to stay current to latest system enhancements which may affect the designated programs


Education and/or Experience

For consideration candidates will need a Bachelor's degree in computer science, business administration, information or related program and three (3) to four (4) years of analysis, benefit coding or configuration experience required in Healthcare, Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) preferred, Pharmacy systems management and claims processing, claims auditing, data analysis, testing and validation or related Managed Healthcare experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer Skills

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have excellent MS Office Suite Word and Excel skills
  • Experience with creating SQL queries. Ability to learn MedImpact's proprietary software and new business application solutions

  • This position may require limited travel periodically
  • Attendance may also be required at various local training sessions and/or meetings
