Our mission is simple: democratize security by making it easy and effective for everyone. We're transforming security from the ground up by solving the world's most pressing geopolitical challenge - safe, secure information access. We engineer our business to enable our customers to easily address their ever-evolving security challenges.
We believe that impactful work is rewarding work and that our team is at its best when everyone feels empowered to bring their whole self to work. We learn together by hiring for cultural contribution, not cultural fit, and recognize that diversity in background and thought are essential to building high-impact teams.
We invest in growth and learning opportunities and encourage our people to never stop learning. We foster collaboration and believe in being recognized (and rewarded!) for hard work. We champion a healthy work-life balance. We're kinder than necessary.
Together we build for the future by designing simple solutions for complex problems. And that's why we're the most loved and trusted name in security.
As a Product Data Scientist on our Product Insights Enablement team, you will empower data-driven innovation. You will have a direct impact on improving Duo's suite of products, embedding directly with Product pods to align impactful decisions with actionable data. You will create relevant metrics and analyses to answer important questions developed through close collaboration with colleagues, using the deep understanding of the Duo product data you develop. You appreciate the importance of data verification & integrity as foundational for gaining insights from data.
What you'll do...

  • Build deep relationships with one or more product engineering teams, providing data and analytic subject matter expertise and representing the teams' needs in the development of central data resources.
  • Understand the unique context of Duo products of the teams on which you are embedded, and dig in to determine the questions where data-driven answers will improve the Duo customer experience.
  • Provide specific analyses to inform product decisions and use these experiences to help inform the design of comprehensive data tools and resources that can be leveraged across products and teams.
  • Empower product teams to define and build their own data processes, identify any key issues, and work cross-functionally to advocate for solutions.
  • Become an expert on Duo's product data, including how it's stored, how to access it, and what it means. Use your data detective and creative problem solving skills to identify and find solutions for any gaps or complexities in the data.
  • Communicate the results of any findings plus their limitations clearly to others who may have little experience interpreting complex data.

Skills you have...

  • Background in statistics, product analytics, or another data-intensive field.
  • Demonstrated capability to work with a variety of stakeholders to elicit and articulate their data needs.
  • The ability to translate technical findings and their limitations to diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with SQL, R, Python, or other data analysis tools, with expert-level experience in at least one of these.
  • A drive to leave data, processes, and pipelines better than you found them.
  • Comfort working under ambiguity, and an ability to create clarity.

Even better if you have...

  • Experience in a customer-facing or consulting role.
  • Experience collaborating with software engineers on improvements to data collection.
  • Understanding of the product development lifecycle and experience translating.
  • Knowledge of the security sector.
  • Familiarity with git or other version control system and agile development workflows.
