Product Architect - Advanced Data Analytics & Machine learning
Job Description
Our's enterprise Machine learning & MLOps platform is called ADA (Advanced data analytics) and is positioned to serve data scientists and ML Engineers across the organization. ADA's mission is to build platform, capabilities and products that will make Merck's data science users extremely productive and democratize the use of AI & machine learning in support of intelligent, data and intelligence driven business decisions.
ADA is a new eco-system and team's primary focus right now is to build the foundation. ADA consists of three major technologies, AWS Sage-maker, Databricks and Dataiku. ADA manages these different technologies like independent products but one of the architecture goal is to integrate these technologies via a common abstraction layer.
Responsibilities
- As ADA product architect, you will be responsible for the entire architecture of the product line, including but not limited to Databricks, Sage-maker, Dataiku and other home grown derived products built on top of these base products
- Work directly internally with product managers, engineers, designers, divisional architects and users to identify, establish and oversee the best possible architecture for new feature requests
- Perform configuration of the ADA product line to maximize the value of ADA's product capabilities for enterprise usage.
- Ensure product documentation is complete and current including release notes.
- Assist the ADA adoption team & product managers in assessing customer requirements, identifying customization and integration needs.
- Providing ADA solution subject matter expertise alongside the adoption team to Merck's enterprise data science/ML users
- Act as the primary liaison with the ADA architecture team and represent product in backlog and sprint activities and directing on prioritization in respect to overall ADA platform integration architecture planning
- Participate in the design and configuration of enhancements to the ADA eco - system
- Direct engineers and product managers on best possible integration patterns between different products within ADA product line
Qualifications
- Expert level knowledge with AWS Eco system including security protocols and security policy configuration, S3 and Redshift and Amazon's Machine learning Eco-system
- Expert level architecture knowledge of Databricks, Dataiku and AWS Sage-maker
- Good understanding and exposure to AI/ML architectural patterns & data science Life cycle management, including model operationalization, drift management, re-training patterns
- Expert level understanding of architectural patterns around Databricks delta lake and lake house construct and Spark driven MLOps capabilities, including MLFlow
- Good understanding of MLOps architectural capabilities, streaming data patterns with AWS kinesis and Apache Kafka.
- Strong skills in APIfication of capabilities along with micro service design patterns
- AWS solution architect certification will be a plus but not mandatory
- Strong understanding of AutoML tools and best way of using these tools in an architectural context.
- Strong AWS Sage-maker knowledge including Autopilot, Sage-maker studio, Ground truth etc.
Required Experience and Skills
- 2+ years of Databricks experience including MLOps and Data science capabilities on Databricks
- 1+ years of AWS Sage-maker and Amazon's Machine learning services experience
- Exposure to autoML & visual ML tools like Dataiku.
- 3+ years' experience working in data enablement, Advanced analytics and data science, Machine learning area as an architect
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- AWS certified solution architect will be a plus
- Exposure to Dataiku and broader data science toolkit.
