The Privacy Analyst plays a key role in Zoom’s privacy program by serving as a subject matter expert and the first and primary point of contact with customers and colleagues regarding privacy matters. The role works with, and may take direction from, other members of the privacy legal team, to ensure ongoing compliance with global privacy and data security frameworks, validate processes, and fulfill program targets for increasing efficiencies. The role will also manage inbound requests from customers and third parties, review program requirements, audit requirements, validate implementation, and recommend improvements. Leveraging deep understanding of data usage across products and teams, the role will work with the Privacy team to compile, document, and implement legal requirements for new products, features, markets and geographies. The role will support incident response and customer response.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main point of contact for responding to customer and internal inquiries related to privacy matters and providing timely, thorough responses.

  • Document privacy operations process and procedures.

  • Support development of privacy training materials and other communications to train employees and third parties, as appropriate, on Zoom’s privacy policies, data handling practices and procedures and legal obligations.

  • Work cross functionally with security and other teams to ensure data privacy and security compliance

  • This role must communicate effectively and work cross functionally within the business to represent compliance positions and requirements while moving forward the best interests of the business. This role must appropriately balance risk with priorities and business objectives.

  • Serve as the first point of contact for validating whether an issue arises to the level of a privacy incident, obtain appropriate incident details, determine notification requirements, and track progress throughout the incident lifecycle.

  • Assist with annual review of product and privacy processes to validate and ensure ongoing compliance.

  • Assist with privacy reviews for vendors as needed. 

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of direct experience in the field of privacy 

  • Knowledge of global privacy and regulatory frameworks, such as GDPR, CCPA, CAN-SPAM, HIPAA as it pertains to Business Associates, FERPA, FedRAMP, etc.

  • Privacy certification (e.g., CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPT, CIPM)

  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively across cross-functional teams and build consensus among stakeholders

  • Ability to quickly issue spot and appropriately prioritize risk and outcomes a must

  • Passion to work in collaborative team environment with an attitude to deliver happiness

  • Obsessively responsive

  • Extremely organized with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive strategic projects to successful delivery.

  • Sense of humor, excellent interpersonal skills, business judgment, strategic thinking, superior work ethic, flexibility and ability to work independently
