In this business-critical role, you will lead the R&D financial planning and analysis process for the iDS organization (within the Cranial & Spinal Technologies operating unit) by partnering with multiple leaders across R&D to assess functional needs, maximize portfolio effectiveness, and achieve business results. You will also be responsible for assisting with the compilation of global iDS financial statements and monthly review packages for the iDS Leadership Team. A Day in the Life
• Provide financial analysis for the iDS R&D strategic and annual operating plans, forecasts, and lead monthly closing processes
• Assist in managing all financial aspects of R&D projects, including AOP, forecasting, trade-off decisions, and financial reporting
• Analyze, interpret, manage, coordinate, and communicate R&D financial performance
• Collaborate with other functions and finance personnel in support of AOP, forecasting, project resource demands, and overall financial performance.
• Assist with the iDS monthly close and development of monthly and quarterly business review presentations
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and sharing of best practices across finance and the broader organization
• Educate business partners on financial topics and assist with ad hoc finance support requests
• Ensure fiduciary control in accordance with Medtronic Finance policies

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's Degree with 7+ years of work experience in Finance and/or Accounting (5+ years with an Advanced degree)

Nice to Have

 

  • BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA, CFA, MBA in Finance or a Master's degree
  • Experience with Hyperion reporting and SAP
  • Strong quantitative analysis, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • High degree of initiative and self-motivation
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to operate within a complex organization (matrix) and various levels of management
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage several projects simultaneously while appropriately prioritizing
  • Demonstrated ability to manage to tight deadlines, along with flexibility to changing priorities
  • Experience with business partnering
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to work effectively under uncertainties
