Principal Data/Information Architect

We are hiring for a Full-Time Principal Data/Information Architect. REMOTE hire available in Utah, Colorado and Texas.

The Role:

ThePrincipal Data Architect role will be a leader within our Data organization.You will help define and promote our data-driven culture, providing thoughtleadership for how we use data across Nu Skin. You will be responsible forworking across Product, Finance, Sales, Supply Chain, Data Science, Analytics,and Engineering to drive innovative and thoughtful improvements towardsoperational efficiency and to build competitive advantage. You will drive keydecisions around how we work with data, both within the Data Organization andfor the broader company, including taking ownership of the key transactionaland data warehouse design initiatives. This will include creating new datamodels as well as improving existing databases and data flows. You will adviseour Product and Engineering teams on best data practices and will shape thefuture landscape of data at NuSkin, including architecting the databases anddata streams to power Nu Skin's ever growing business. You'll work on excitingprojects that touch all parts of our data ecosystem. We're looking for aPrincipal Data Architect to partner with both the Business and Engineeringteams to propel Nu Skin's production data stores to new heights.

What you'll do:

• Contribute to the definition, maintenance and evolution of the Architectural principles, standards and patterns in line with the Architectural Roadmap
• Provide technical leadership to engineering teams on data related application design methodologies, system resources, application tuning.
• Choosing purpose-built data stores i.e. polyglot persistence
• Lead the Strategy for transactional and data warehousing platform
• Provide solutions for data interoperability and data integration between microservices, applications and systems
• Review data(base) changes from engineering teams and recommend query/schema changes to optimize the performance of queries.
• Participate actively in infrastructure and application design, focusing on scalability considerations especially around data storage and access.
• Collect business requirements and develop as well as document data models to satisfy those requirements.
• Oversee the migration of data from legacy systems to new solutions.
• Design and architect for data reliability, uptime, scalability, performance and availability.
• Research new technologies, data modeling methods and information management systems to determine which ones should be incorporated into company data architectures.
• Proactively perform requirements and capacity analysis to set clear requirements for scaling Nu Skin's data store resources globally.
• Lead engineers and product owners to architect data-driven solutions that operate at production scale. Mentor engineers and data architects on the best practices of interacting with transactional and data warehousing systems in a production environment.
• Partner with Security and Privacy teams to ensure data is secure and in compliance with GDPR, CCPA, Data Privacy and data retention policies. u2028 u2028

What you'll need:
Acandidate for this position must have a significant level of experience workingin an IT organization:

• As a technologist who has evolved from a strong background in hands-on software development
• Knowledge of distributed systems & services, messaging, object orientation, database solutions, web application development, security and open source technologies
• Knowledge of design patterns and architectural concepts including microservices, low latency systems, data warehousing, APIs and cloud services, preferably AWS
• Experience as an architect or across a range of related domains
• Deep knowledge of integration patterns & technologies and experience designing and implementing integrated, distributed systems
• Deep experience in a wide range of architectural areas and business domains
• Experience designing & delivering choreographed/event-driven solutions, ideally using an event streaming platform
• Knowledge & experience specifying, designing & implementing big data solutions

Bonus points for:

• Bachelors' Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field
• 10+ years of building large scale data systems
• 10+ years of experience with architectural patterns, building APIs, microservices, event streams, and high throughput systems
• 10+ years of influencing leadership in the fields of information management
• 5+ years of working in the AWS ecosystem
