We're looking for a passionate Principal - Data Analytics with great technical skills for our Auto Decision Strategy group. This person will have responsibilities of (1) preparing, preprocessing, and validating Ally consumer credit data, (2) utilizing data science techniques to facilitate decision & optimization strategy analytics, and (3) supporting through-the-cycle predictive analytics for the Ally Auto Finance business. The ideal candidate should be passionate about data science and consumer risk analytics within the financial services industry. Strong analytical and programming skills are a must. The Work Itself

This role is quantitative in nature and requires an individual that is highly capable of interrogating and analyzing massive account-level data using various programing languages and tools such as SQL, SAS, Python and R. He or she will assist in advancing predictive analytics used in developing and optimizing decision strategies for the Ally Auto Finance business, with the responsibility of completing all data phases of data science projects, including account-level data preparation, variable cleaning and screening, pre-processing and exploratory analysis, data validation and documentation. This Principal - Data Analytics must be an innovative and strategic thinker who is willing to challenge status quo, is able to learn quickly, and who is self-motivated and detail oriented.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Preparing and analyzing large, account-level consumer data from internal and external sources to identify origination indicators in Ally's auto finance consumer's credit originations data

• Supporting data science initiatives such as customer segmentation and strategy optimization to advance originations analytics and portfolio management

• Facilitating projects with internal parties to advance Ally's analytical capabilities and technology

• Applying advanced data mining to support predictive analytics for Ally's auto finance origination strategy

The Skills You Bring

  • 5 years of analytics or data science work experience
  • Bachelor's Degree required; preferred in quantitative/technical discipline (ie. Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science/Analytics, Economics)
  • Expertise with data models, data mining, and data segmentation
  • Intermediate knowledge of machine learning techniques (e.g., regression, decision trees, cluster analysis) using SAS or other statistical programming packages
  • Hands-on experience working with large account-level large datasets using SQL, SAS, Pyton and/or R programming
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively present data analytics results to internal and external stakeholders
  • Highly self-motivated, with the ability to work effectively in fast paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in loan-level predictive data mining for consumer finance industry
  • Experience working with real time data and models deployed to a real time scoring environment
  • Master's degree in a quantitative field
