The People Analytics team at Optum provides insights and perspectives on our employee population that allow us to fulfill our mission to help people live healthier lives and to help make the health system work better for everyone.
In this role, you will be an integral part of the Optum People Analytics team and report to the Director of People Analytics supporting OptumHealth. You will develop and implement tools to drive improved decision making and business performance by providing executive insights and key trends to People Business Partners.
You will collaborate with the team to translate business objectives and challenges into analytics projects, prioritize, share best practices, and deliver analytics and reporting of key business trends to People Business Partners.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Consult with senior leaders on the People Team to understand key priorities and utilize data to help them make better decisions. Discover and communicate meaningful patterns in data and provide context, insights, and analytics.
  • Proactive engagement with People Business Partners to track and improve employee-related metrics to measure the return on HC investments.
  • Support employee survey and listening strategy.
  • Interpret the results of data analyses and develop appropriate conclusions and recommendations to help guide people strategy and decision-making.
  • Compile presentations to effectively synthesize and communicate results and implications of data findings and trends.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Expert Microsoft Excel skills
  • Expert in dashboard development
  • Strong communication skills
  • 7+ years of experience using conceptual data analytics to formulate hypotheses, determine assumptions to test, and interpret data / results.
  • 7+ years of work experience analyzing and interpreting data to provide insights.
  • 7+ years of consulting experience with customers and influencing leaders.
  • Strong data acumen, including the ability to identify trends, anomalies and points requiring additional investigation.
  • Ability to raw data sets into themes and action plans
  • Curiosity for learning and working in ambiguous environments
  • High emotional intelligence
  • Growth mindset
  • 10% travel required


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree
  • Healthcare industry knowledge
  • Expert proficiency in statistical techniques
  • Familiarity with human capital metrics / measures
  • Consulting / client facing / client management experience
  • Understanding of UnitedHealth Group business

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only : The salary range for Colorado/Connecticut/Nevada residents is $97,300 to $176,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
