Job summary
The Red Hat IT team is looking for a Principal Business Systems Analyst to join the Enterprise Data and Analytics (EDA) team. In this role, you will serve as a point of contact between the stakeholder business community and EDA development teams, and help identify and clearly document business, system, and technical requirements for the development of platform, data, and reporting assets. To succeed in this role, you'll need to have 8+ years experience as a business systems analyst, with proficiency in SQL, Tableau, or Salesforce.com (SFDC) and master data management solutions. You'll need the ability to solve complex business problems, and clearly synthesize, document, and articulate data requirements to effectively communicate those requirements and impact to developers and decision-makers. You should have excellent writing and communications skills, as well as a passion and curiosity about data, systems, and problem-solving. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
Primary job responsibilities

  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to define complex data requirements to support new data solutions, and troubleshoot delivery against those specifications
  • Communicate and consult on business requirements, eliciting business needs and dependencies on systems and data to enable
  • Translate business needs into technical requirements and specifications, across architecture, data, reporting, and visualization for Tableau, SFDC, and other visualization platform
  • Analyze and document business logic from various solutions including SFDC, Tableau, SQL, Microsoft Excel, and SAP Business Objects (BOBJ)
  • Directly produce datasets and reports for analysis using system reporting tools if needed
  • Plan, prioritize, and design features for the deployment of offerings
  • Define and articulate process flows to analyze dependencies
  • Develop agile stories for development team delivery
  • Communicate feature release roadmap to customers


Required skills

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to converse with business and technical associates
  • Experience working with all aspects of business including channels, sales, marketing, finance, and operations
  • Proficient in communicating and coordinating technology solutions and processes
  • Ability to translate business rules logic into technical requirements
  • Motivated, goal-oriented, and enthusiastic about solving tough problems
  • Passion and curiosity for data and problem-solving
  • Proficiency in SQL and Tableau
  • Knowledge of data architecture practices and data transport methods (ETL, ESB, API)
  • Technical competency related to IT industry standards and best practices
  • 8+ years of experience working in a business analyst role
  • 8+ years of experience working in business intelligence with data analytics tools
  • Good problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with SFDC or other customer relationship management (CRM) platforms, AWS, or master data management is a plus
