The "Principal Analyst - Master Data" will join the Master Data Management department to contribute to Pearson's data transformation. You will be responsible for the customer and product dimension at Pearson, onboarding legacy customer and product data into the MDM solution, harmonization of business rules and processes, remediation of data issues, and the establishment of policies and processes in conjunction with the business stewards at Pearson.

As an "Principal Analyst - Master Data" you will work closely with other Core platforms at Pearson, Business Data Stewards (customer & product), MDM Functional team and data quality team leading continuous improvement at Pearson.

Responsibilities

  • Align with the product and customer data (business) teams on priorities.
  • Collaborate with other core platforms (CRM, eCommerce, Royalties, ERP, etc.) delivery teams, DBAs, Admins etc. to understand the cross-platform dependencies.
  • Collaborate with offshore - prioritization, resolution plans, communicating status.
  • Prepare the weekly and Monthly report on development and present to management, highlighting any risks/issues and the plan to mitigate
  • Collaborate with Engineering Manager, Technical Leads for technical architecture based on the solution architecture provided by the functional team.
  • Hands on development of MDM enhancements/projects.
  • Participate in Master Data Architecture discussions and provide input.
  • Perform duties related to effort estimation, documentation, business process.
  • Collaborate with business subject matter experts and data stewards to define data standards, definitions, checklists, guidelines, etc.
  • Collaborate with the QA and Release Management team to test and migrate the enhancements to production.
  • Collaborate with the Production support team to transition the knowledge on the enhancements during UAT phase.
  • Provide data analysis resulting in improvement recommendations.
  • Adhere and promote best practices, enable standard practices, and communicate value to the business.


Experience

  • Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or similar discipline.
  • Overall Experience of 10 years in IT.
  • 5-8 years' experience of Oracle E-Business Suite implementation / Support.
  • Experience in Customer Match and merge concepts.
  • Strong working knowledge of Oracle Trading Community Architecture is required
  • Ability to document data flows and processes.
  • Ability to manage version control system like Kintana.
  • Experience with root cause analysis and cross functional resolution of issues.
  • Experience working in Medium to Large scale Master Data implementations is preferred.
  • Excellent at creating stored procedures, functions, packages, database triggers and other database objects using SQL.
  • Experience writing complex queries using advanced SQL concepts.
  • Proven ability to document business requirements related to data function and rules.
  • Continuous process improvement, measurement, and change adoption experience in data management.
  • Oracle Applications Framework working experience is preferred.
  • ETL and Data Quality processes experience is preferred.
  • Data quality tools integrating with Oracle MDM applications experience is preferred
  • Resource with Technical and functional knowledge is preferred.

Essential technical skills/tools

  • SQL / PLSQL
  • Oracle E-Business Suite Development.

  • Experience with Kintana code promotion tools.
  • Experience with Jira.
  • Experience in organizing and leading projects.
  • Agile methodology background.
