Job Description

Position Summary:

This position will be a critical member of the Clinical Trial Division (CTD) Pricing Team, working closely with the Senior Manager of Pricing to model and negotiate pricing with customers. This role is well suited for an individual with a passion for deal modeling, a desire to support the Commercial Sales Organization and engage directly with customers. This is a fast paced environment that requires the ability to think creatively and develope tailored solutions and deal constructs that drive revenue and improved profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate, develop, and support global pricing strategy and implementation for the Clinical Trials Division (approx. $1B ex Comparator).
  • Financial modeling of expectant volume gains and margin impact of strategy change.
  • Develop future pricing strategy to better position our services to enable organic growth and margin expansion.
  • Participates in the RFP process and develops consistent price grids for existing and new customers.
  • Effectively communicates and trains the local quoting teams on any new price grids.
  • Develops pricing model to reliably measure price change during customer negotiations.
  • Ability to work across cross functional teams to develop strong pricing and negotiation strategies
  • Responsibility for peer review, in partnership with the Pricing Administration Manager, pricing changes and modifications prior to implementation
  • Cross train with Commercial Finance senior FP&A analysts and provide coverage when required
  • Support business unit implementation of new pricing via training
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis and projects as assigned.



Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each crucial duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill or ability required.
  • High level analytical capabilities!
  • Advanced computer skills are required, specifically with MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and Salesforce.com
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. As well as the ability to develop well-defined analysis and presentations.
  • Consistent track record of successful individual and team process improvement actions.
  • Self-starter, initiative and motivation to accomplish tasks with independently.
  • Outstanding communication skills and capacity to prioritize multiple projects!
  • Previous pricing experience and knowledge of the clinical trials' market is a plus.
  • Ability to formulate strategies that consider customer budgets, previous award behaviors, available competitor information, and competitor pricing strategies.
  • Ability to present to senior managers in a concise and accurate manner; providing them the information needed to make quick and informed decisions.
  • History of participating on teams and establishing relationships with peers.

Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:

  • Bachelors Degree in Finance, Economics, Business or other relevant background
  • 2-4 years of related work experience
  • Requires previous Commercial facing and account management in a Clinical Supply Chain service provider organization (2 years if outside of pricing)
  • Prior quoting and familiarity with pricing within a Clinical Supply Chain service provider, preferably Fisher Clinical Services structure (1 year minimum)
