The Business Process Innovation team is a newly formed team whose focus is to use technology to automate business processes across AllianceBernstein to enable better business outcomes. Our proprietary ACE product supports all operations and technology areas of AB with workflow, data management and data processing. In addition, we are introducing new, innovative technology to provide next generation automation and workflow capabilities.

We are seeking a Nashville based Power Bi Developer to join our Business Process Innovation Team in Global Technology and Operations.

Describe the role:

The BI Developer will work closely with the Data/Business Intelligence Architect, Business Process Innovation team and their business users to develop, optimize and implement business intelligence to improve business process efficiency and effectiveness.

To succeed in this role, the candidate should know how to examine new data, interpret system requirements, translate those needs into technical specifications and ready to quickly learn new applications. They will be responsible for the subsequent development and support of technical solutions to meet the agreed upon business requirements. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in data analysis and integration with excellent problem-solving abilities.

Describe the applications and business or enterprise functions the role supports:

The BI Developer will work with Business Process Innovation team to develop business intelligence solutions for Global Fund Administration. Contributes and deliver BI solutions. Build applications to analyze, cleanse, and integrate data from multiple heterogeneous sources. Help in scheduling and monitoring data integration jobs. Practices agile methodology and participate in team meetings. Work with offshore team to achieve team goals.

The key job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborating and working with the Business Process Innovation team to identify business requirements, optimizing to ensure process efficiency and effectiveness of business outcomes.
  • Participate and implement technology solutions to meet identified business and operational requirements, models, repository, dashboards, reports within a complete functional and technical architecture.
  • Documenting and maintaining a functional and technical document.
  • Designing, developing, and continuously improving supporting activities (automation of versioning and release management, scheduling, security models, impact assessment of new changes, etc.)
  • Implementing best practices and code reviewing for development.
  • Participating and supporting in QA and UAT cycles

The person in this role will have the unique opportunity to work closely with Business Process Innovation teams to assess, processes and identify technology and operational improvements. In addition, the Business Process Innovation team will incorporate newer technology, leveraging cloud platforms and visualization tools such as Azure and Power BI. Candidate may also have an opportunity to work on machine learning, natural language processing, chatbots, and robotic process automation.

Job Qualifications (The ideal candidate should have the following):

Qualifications, Experience, Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of professional experience in data/BI development role
  • 4+ years of experience with OLTP and OLAP database models
  • 4 years of experience working with any ETL tool like SSIS, Power Center etc.
  • 4 years of experience working with database like MS SQL Server or Oracle
  • 2 years of experience in reporting tools like Power BI or Tableau
  • Experience working with Office 365
  • Demonstrated experience working in agile environment
  • Experience in working in complex cross-function projects
  • Experience working in the finance industry or with financial systems/data is preferred, but not required



Skills:

  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Strong problem solving, organizational and time management skills
  • Fluent in relational and dimensional database modelling
  • Hands on knowledge with at least one Key ETL Market tool (Talend, Informatica PowerCenter, Microsoft SSIS, etc.)
  • Hands-on knowledge with at least one Key BI technology (Tableau, SSRS, MS Power BI, SAP Business Objects, MicroStrategy, Power BI etc.)
  • Hands-on knowledge of enterprise repository tools, data modelling tools, data mapping tools, and data profiling tools.
  • Knowledge of latest technology trends. (Big Data, AI, Cloud, Mobile, etc)
  • Experience working with REST API's
